During the 1960s, assisted by some very good rock-n-roll, general social interaction mellowed considerably, and became more open and trusting. It seemed that people and society were both improving, and both actually nurturing each other. A personal and social transformation was taking place across a whole younger generation.
Individually, as well as together in groups, many young people had realised that established mainstream thinking, although improving, was much too conservative, and far wedded to past fears, from the cumulative effects of the great depression and two world wars, to be able to optimistically embrace the future. For genuine improvements to occur, they themselves would have to become the change agents. Many embrace this challenge with optimism and gusto.
The emergence of Flower Children in 1967 may have been the most significant event in western civilisation in the last two thousand years. The “Human Be In” or “Gathering of the Tribes” in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, January 1967, marked the initiation into a higher state of consciousness by many young people. This emergence of mass ascension, unknown in human history, heralded the beginning of the Aquarian age of Peace and Love, and the Golden Age of Planetary Ascension.
The elevation of consciousness put many youth and young adults a quantum leap ahead of the society that grew them up and educated them. As is well known, the effect produced many positive reforms towards a more open, humane society. Not so well known, but even more importantly, it also gave rise to the quest for, the exploration of, and the commitment to healthier, more nourishing, nurturing and sustainable ways of living, individually, and collectively, that by today’s mainstream standards, still seem like a huge leap into an amazing, benign future.
At the time, media attention towards the younger generation remained obsessed with superficialities, such as long hair, trendy fashions and fads, and freer sexuality, while remaining derisory, even antagonistic towards examples of genuine progress, each and all of which had to be peacefully and patiently fought for, often in the face of law-enforced, violent opposition, the control arm of political oppostition. Many participants in this grand and deeper adventure could discern the game, and clearly saw the wisdom of not drawing attention to themselves, or announcing their advanced discoveries to a world still wracked by fear and uncertainty, and constrained by conformity and compliance.
Consequently, much of this more sublime activity remained unannounced, unknown and invisible to mainstream media, and by extension, the general mainstream population. This allowed much experimentation, distillation and refinement without intrusion or detraction. Many of the more positive findings have yet to be integrated into mainstream understanding, which has always had difficulty accepting the best of anything.
Today, we are on the brink of a global breakout of elevated consciousness, known as Global Ascension. The pieces are already in place, and the effect will be as rapid only world-wide. In preparation for this unique, unprecedented event, this book explores in some detail the lead up to what is today known as planet Earth’s first Group-Ascension event, and the nature of the elevated consciousness that emerged in those people.
From Delinquents to Flower Children
Music, chanting, singing and dance has always been recognised and used by religions all over the world as a means of lifting the spirit. For more than two decades, the best of rock-n-roll provided a similar function to the youth of the day, with unprecedented outcomes.
Emergence of Rock-n-Roll
In the early fifties, teenagers were typically being labelled “bodgies”, “woodgies”, “teddyboys”, “hooligans” and “juvenile delinquents”. They had generally been born in the 1930s depression years, and had spent their childhood during the war. Around 1956, rock-n-roll burst onto the airwaves. At its very beginning, rock-n-roll grabbed hold of the youth of the day, who responded to the music’s immediacy and emotional vibrancy, and instantly breathed a new life into these alienated, emotionally-starved youth and young adults.
Rock-n-roll owed much of its origins to the blues music of previous years, country music, folk music, and to a wave of more joyful African-American gospel music, most of which was not welcome on racially white US radio stations. Many of the early rock-n-roll songs were no more than ‘white’ cover versions of banned ‘black’ music. Elvis Presley, who epitomised and thrust the new music genre into to mainstream public arena, had borrowed much from the African-American blues music.
Being brand new, and disparaged in the early years by most of the music industry, rock-n-roll was substantially left alone to find its own level and earn its own way. Many bands wrote and produced their own songs with very little outside influence. Record company standover and moulding was far less, so the music was often a close expression to the feelings of the youth of the day – energetic, lively, optimistic, joyful and fresh – joyous exuberance.
Rock-n-roll differed from the blues, in that it was buoyant, even effervescent, and the lyrics positive. The focus was often romantic, emotional love, and not the emotionally devoid, physical sexuality that, with much corporate backing and promotion, has taken over youth music today. Even when the lyrics were about emotional heartbreak, the song was about passing through it, free of bitterness, hatred, revenge and the like. And it was always sung in a positive way, without the sentimentality or broken-hearted voice that is such a trademark of country music. It seemed to indicate a healthy way of resolving emotional upset and upheaval by remaining open hearted, and it provided inspiring music to facilitate emotional healing.
By 1960, the two stand-out contributors had been removed from the scene – Elvis by Army call-up into Germany; and Buddy Holly in a plane crash. This signalled one era of rock and roll had completed its essential work, and was making way for another, which was about to begin. The age of the super-group was about to arise. The Beatles quickly became the standout band, more than filling any sense of void.
In the early 1960s, two emerging giants of rock-n-roll, the Beatles and Bob Dylan, met and had an extraordinary and far reaching exchange. The Beatles got Dylan interested in the electric guitar and breaking out of the folk mould, and Dylan influenced the Beatles to move beyond romantic love into something more significant and socially meaningful. Dylan gave rock-n-roll a social conscience and he became for a time, a singing prophet of cultural change, while the Beatles linked rock-n-roll to love of humanity and planetary peace, inner peace and meditation, and inspired a young generation towards thinking about and looking for peaceful solutions.
Even from the beginning, rock-n-roll music was always above racism and gender discrimination, as were their listeners. African-American women were always a major part of the music, despite having problems getting over both record company and radio station barriers, until the Motown label was formed and delivered an overwhelming number of irrepressible, African-American top hits. This played a major role in reducing racism in mainstream American society.
The best of rock-n-roll was ecstatic, uninhibiting, inspiring and emotionally uplifting. As the 1960s progressed, the ecstatic, emotional hysteria and release that was such a feature of live concerts beginning with Elvis and probably culminating with the early Beatles, began to diminish, as fans became more centered and calm. Rock-n-rollers were learning to become centered in their own peaceful, inner space, without either ‘buying into’ or ‘reacting against’ what was going on around them. Instead, rock-n-roll became more of a response, picking up an awakening generation, mellowing out the more radical, and enlivening the more timid and docile. And the best of rock-n-roll was becoming more and more aesthetic and uplifting and the lyrics more and more insightful and enlightening.
Protest songs emerged to point out the harsh, staid, out-of-date and backward-looking aspects of society, which continued to keep it locked into the past, preventing it from enjoying the many insights, understandings and breakthroughs that were occurring, and which pointed towards a gentler, more caring society. Perhaps because of the potential for radio censorship, protest songs, despite the unpleasant nature of the subject, were still sung maintaining the same standards of music, without degenerating into abuse, sarcasm or accusation. Much of the protest songs were sung acoustically, as folk music. Many were inspiring and uplifting. In those days, all music had to sound nice to get an airing at all.
Emerging from a confluence of the peace movement and the civil rights movement, and buoyed by the wave of exquisite, inspiring rock-n-roll, flower children discovered an inner stillness that enabled them to see the underlying harmony beneath the outer discord. From this evolved psychedelic rock – aesthetic, flowing, swirling, multi-layered music that sometimes sounded like it was right inside ones head, and transcended many conventional limitations, with lyrics often focusing on peace and harmony between people, the underlying oneness that permeates all life, and the sheer joy of living.
Even as rock-n-roll facilitated inner psychological freedom, it indicated and advocated wholesome social directions. In little more than a decade, from healthy romantic love, rock-n-roll evolved and expanded to include love of humanity, the planet, and nature, and concern for human rights and justice, all sung without bitterness or self-righteousness. It brought a generation of youth and emerging adults to an awareness of social justice as well as the need for, and the possibility of peaceful planetary co-existence, all presented in buoyant, joyful, optimistic, hopeful, uplifting ways. The best of sixties rock was therapeutic, inspiring and uplifting.
As with all true art, rock-n-roll was prophetic and inspirational, pointing to an understanding beyond what mainstream society could begin to envisage. From the mid 1950s through into the 1970s, rock-n-roll facilitated emotional healing, social upliftment and compassionate detachment from a society that, while improving and heading in the right general direction, was still extremely staid, intolerant, rigid, backward looking and highly conformist.
Looking to the Future
For more than two decades, rock-n-roll played a pivotal function in inspiring a generation of youth into becoming socially-aware, ecologically-concerned, planetary-conscious, peace-committed, critical-thinking, cooperatively-spirited individuals, who were able to envisage and advocate a better, more benevolent way of living, free from long existing and newly emerging social problems, which, if not corrected would eventually swamp the world. The youth were leading us to the future.
When any group of people think and act together, some manner of group consciousness is formed. This can be a kind of group mind, as is created in schools and universities, and through TV news, where everybody is kept on the same page at the same time; or it can be group negative emotion as in mob-rule. For many, the group mind or emotion can predominate over individual consciousness, and collectively drag group members down into lower and false forms of consciousness, as in football hooliganism.
When people come together for a higher purpose, and work honestly, responsibly and with goodwill, they form a coherent group. At higher levels, a group soul forms, based upon the higher level energies manifested, and this group soul attracts higher-level, group energies. This has the capacity to uplift group members into higher and higher levels of consciousness and understanding.
Group Energies were first spoken about in the Rays and Initiations, the last of the Alice Bailey books, telepathically received in the late 1940s from Ascended Master Dwal Kuhl. The book was given as an unexpected bonus because of the spiritual progress made during WW2. The book was published in 1960. Group energies are very potent, and are of a higher order than the long existing individual ray energies, which traditionally determine our soul and personality vibration, etc, for each incarnation, and which the ascended masters function on, work from and act through.
The early effects of group energies upon the war-born generation, was to stimulate their sense of freedom and personal sovereignty like no other generation in recorded history. Their parents were too staid, too predictable, too straight, and follow in their footsteps would be unbearably boring. Then, in the mid 1950s, came rock-n-roll.
Before rock-n-roll, all children and youth followed in their parents footsteps, singing their parents’ songs, that were in the main recorded by their parents generation. Rock-n-roll was young peoples’ music, written and sung by young people for young people about the things that mattered to young people. And what mattered most in the 1950s was romantic love, and getting over the often subsequent emotional heartbreak.
Then came the 1960s, and with the 1960s came the Beatles. The Beatles shot to stardom as the first, and greatest planetary super-group following the release of a series of hits about unabashed, open-hearted, full-blown love. The effect of this was immediate, world-wide and colossal. An unprecedented number of #1 hits cemented the importance of love, and its overwhelming irrepressible interest by the majority of children, teenagers and young adults. This took the youth of the Western world by storm, and a wave of open-hearted love engulfed the planet, added to by other singers and groups, and remained so throughout the decade and well into the 1970s. An era of love and optimism swept the Western world, and the sixties became a period of unbridled optimism and goodwill. The youth were remaking the world.
They were a stunningly progressive group, so experimental in their music that each new album was different from the last, and you never knew what to expect next. Their lyrics and lives progressed from romantic love to mature love, to psychedelia, to meditation and Eastern consciousness, to social concern, ending the war and implementing world peace, to emotional healing.
The Beatles were very early adopters of newly-discovered, breakthrough areas of consciousness, and were able to dissolve barriers in each area on behalf of their followers, so that these very and important aspects of consciousness were no longer so strange and mysterious, and something to be feared and avoided. As a result, many of the younger generation felt less insecure regarding unexplored areas of consciousness, and more free to explore these and other areas of consciousness upliftment. The outcome of this was a revolution in consciousness that continues to progress and break new ground, even today.
Healthy Person Psychology
During the 1950s, consistent with other improvements to society, new forms of psychotherapy were being discovered and refined, based upon observations of positive outcomes that were way ahead of the best theories of the day. The search for better models led to huge advances in psychology through observing and describing the blossoming of the human potential, and leading to the emergence of a new, positive, growth orientated field of psychology, reflecting human health, wellbeing and greater functionality, and variously called full-humaneness, transpersonal, third force, human potential, etc. The term ‘humanistic’ gained common usage.
Compliance of the individual to conventional social norms ceased to be the measuring stick of therapeutic success. Instead, the integrity of the individual, and realising or actualising the human potential was emerging to become of paramount importance. The slow, torturous, multi-year treatment process of psychoanalysis gave way to increasingly easeful, simpler, more direct and more rapid healing, through assuming the fundamental integrity of the client, working in a more immediate, gentle and caring way, and trusting the client to move in a healthy direction.
Abraham Maslow, Chair of Psychology, Brandies University, made a study of healthy people, including many of his students, and in 1962 published “Towards a Psychology of Being”, based on extensive studies during the 1950s, which concluded that:
“Man demonstrates in his own nature a pressure toward fuller and fuller Being, more and more perfect actualisation of his humaneness. Creativeness, spontaneity, self-hood, authenticity, caring for others, being able to love, and yearning for truth are embryonic potentialities belonging to his species.
“No psychological growth is possible unless this essential core of the person is fundamentally accepted, loved and respected by others and by himself.
“Only healthy persons uniformly yearn for what is good for them and for others, and then are able wholeheartedly to enjoy of it and approve of it. For such people virtue is its own reward in the sense of being enjoyed in itself. They spontaneously tend to do right because that is what they want to do, what they need to do, what they enjoy, what they approve of doing, and what they will continue to enjoy.
Client Centred Therapy
Carl Rogers, professor of psychology and psychiatry at Wisconsin, and counselling therapist, discovered that many of his clients displayed remarkably benign natures, as they healed. He described the “fully-functioning person”:
An Internal Locus of Evaluation
“The individual increasingly comes to feel that the source or locus of choices and decisions, or evaluative judgements lies within himself. Less and less does he look to others for approval or disapproval; for standards to live by; for decisions and choices. He recognises that it rests within himself to choose; that the only question that matters is “Am I living in a way which is deeply satisfying to me, and which truly expresses me?”. This I think is perhaps the most important question for the creative individual.”
The Process of Functioning More Fully
“The person who is psychologically free moves in the direction of becoming a more fully functioning person. He makes increasing use of all of his organic equipment to sense the existential situation within and without, recognising that his total organism is often wiser than his awareness. He discovers that he is soundly and realistically social; he lives more completely this moment, but learns that this is the soundest living for all time.”
Basic Trustworthiness of Human Nature
“The basic nature of the human being, when functioning freely, is constructive and trustworthy. His reactions may be trusted to be positive, forward-looking, and constructive. He becomes more realistically socialised. His total behaviour will be more balanced and realistic, which is appropriate to the survival and enhancement of a highly social animal. Such a person’s behaviour is exquisitely rational, moving with subtle and ordered complexity toward the goals his organism is endeavouring to achieve – in such a fashion as to live in increasing harmony with himself and with others.”
Greater Richness of Life
“This process of living the good life involves a wider range, a greater richness, than the constricted living in which most of us find ourselves. One is involved in the satisfying experience of a more sensitive living, with greater range, greater variety, greater richness, because they have this underlying confidence in themselves as trustworthy instruments for encountering life. Such a life is enriching, exiting, rewarding, challenging, and meaningful. The good life is not for the faint-hearted. It involves the stretching and growing of ones potentialities. It involves the courage to be. It means launching oneself fully into the stream of life. Yet the deeply exiting thing about human beings is that when the individual is inwardly free, he chooses as the good life this process of becoming.”
Fritz Perls was the originator of Gestalt Therapy, which was developed during the 1950s, and flourished and rose to prominence during the 1960s. As a therapy, it assisted individuals to have rapid breakthroughs out of old, dysfunctional patterns into a freer, higher level of being and functioning:
“Every individual, every plant, every animal has only one inborn goal – to actualise itself, as it is. Maturing is the transcendence from outside support to self-support. The average person in our time lives at only 5% – 15% of his potential at the highest. So 85% – 95% of our potential is unused, not at our disposal. And the reason for this is simple: we live in clichés and patterned behaviour.”
“The aim of therapy is to help the patient not depend upon others, but to discover, from the very first moment that he can do many things, much more that he thinks he can do. We do this by finding the impasse, where a person is in avoidance and cannot mobilise his own inner support. Nobody really wants to get through the impasse that will grant this development. They would rather maintain the status quo, remain mediocre, and manipulate others for support.”
“If we understand the impasse correctly, we wake up. It’s the awareness, the full awareness of how you are stuck that makes you recover, and realise the whole thing is just a nightmare, not a real thing, not reality.”
Therapy had morphed from refitting a person back into a far-from-perfect, rigid society, to enabling a person to become integrated and inwardly free, and outwardly a highly functional and altogether greater being, able to transcend inhibiting societal limitations and constraints.
These major new psychologies and therapies all had their formation and testing during the 1950s, by leading thinkers and practitioners. They flourished during the 1960s, and gave rise to many variations, catering to every niche and nuance of personal dysfunction. By the early 1970s, they became popular for safe, self-healing, and had collectively risen to pre-eminence over behavioural and psychoanalytical schools of thought.
Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out
The leading therapeutic drug by the end of the 1950s was LSD. It was a natural substance growing on rye mould and discovered, somewhat inadvertently, in 1943, when some had entered the skin pores of a Swiss scientist, who unexpectedly experienced the world’s first “trip” as he bicycled home from work. It was trialed and rejected by the military as being useless for brainwashing or as a truth drug, or as a weapon, and by psychiatry as unhelpful for psychotics. Eventually it was used with great success by the newly emerging holistic therapeutic fraternity, principally as a means to cure alcoholism, heal marital breakdown, and to enable the terminally ill to reconcile to dying and lose their dread of impending death.
Treatment was often a single dose in a particular comfortable and aesthetic setting, leaving the person or the couple alone to enjoy themselves, and come to terms with their situation. During that 6-8 hour period of elevated consciousness and heightened emotional sensitivity, many hitherto overwhelming problems were able to be understood, accepted, assimilated, integrated and transcended virtually as one multi-dimensional experience, enabling the once-was sufferer to embrace and enjoy a new level of personal acceptance, forgiveness of others, compassionate wisdom, and inner peace.
Continuous use of LSD causes loss of discernable effects after only a few days, making it technically anti-addictive – you have to come right down before you will be able go up again. During this period of therapeutic use, LSD was regarded as a miracle drug, and at the time made significant contributions to the more general understanding of a more sensitive, enlightened, compassionate inner nature.
LSD became illegal after its popularity spread from the therapeutic community to non-medical circles by already healthy people, especially the youth, as a self-administered means of successfully entering mystical states of consciousness.
Following the success of LSD in therapy in the late 1950s and early 1960s, several immanent persons who were already studying higher states of consciousness, began ingesting LSD, mescalin, etc to study the effects on themselves. This small group included Alan Watts, Aldous Huxley, Timothy Leary, Richard Alpert, Ralph Metzler, etc. Their experiences were impressive and noteworthy and the response from readers was widespread and enthusiastic. Many saw psychedelics as a key to unlock doors to Higher Consciousness, and psychedelics became, for a while the widespread instrument of choice amongst an already freer and less inhibited younger generation to enter heightened states of consciousness, to be later superseded by meditation as a self-induced method, during the 1970s.
Flower Children used LSD in an altogether higher manner than the therapeutic approach. Already free from serious psychological problems to deal with, and having high expectations of a better world, LSD was used for more creative, visionary, insightful purposes. Usage at the time was generally restricted to special occasions, at appropriate times, in ceremonial settings, usually only after much consideration. It was not unusual afterwards, for a person to spend several months in reflection and contemplation, processing and assimilating the immense understandings released, as they went about their normal lives, but in a wiser, more thoughtful and considerate, more insightful and perhaps light-hearted and humorous way.
Climaxing Achievement of Western Civilisation
Flower children, as they called themselves, seem to have arisen out of the confluence of the civil rights and peace movements, as constructive responses to racism and war, with generous helpings of folk, folk-rock and psychedelic music. More directly, they manifested through an open-minded and open hearted ferment in the Haight-Ashbury area of San Francisco in the mid 1960s, where young people were exploring ideas of open society, simpler living, quality time, self-sufficiency, future possibilities etc. This ideas exploration was accompanied by strong feelings for nature and natural beauty, sensitivity and emotional openness, deep interpersonal trust and living amongst trusting friends. The mental and emotional openness was much helped along by the recreation of rock-n-roll into folk, folk-rock and psychedelic genres.
The flower children were a step beyond the angst of the somewhat withdrawn, dark-clothed, poetry-reading beat generation of a few years earlier, who were born mainly during the 1930s depression years, and who spent their childhood during WW2, were the teenage-angst generation, epitomised by James Dean, and were disparagingly referred to as juvenile delinquents. Flower children were essentially born in the 1940s, grew up on rock-n-roll, danced to a different drum, and were happy to experience a generation gap from their staid, conventional parents. They had their heart charkas opened in the rock-n-roll love revolution of the 1960s.
As true, groundbreaking phenomenon, flower children manifested between the years around 1965-70 and first came into mainstream awareness at the ‘human be-in’ or ‘gathering of the tribes’ in San Francisco Park, early 1967, when more than 20,000 such people discovered they all felt the same way, and were on the same wavelength. This became a spontaneous rapidly growing movement, and by the ‘summer of love’ some six months later, had already swollen to several hundred thousands, which inundated the city. This helped to induce many of the more seriously committed to walk the talk and go bush, and practise the commonly held, inspiring vision.
As individuals, they were able to enjoy whatever they found to be uplifting, drawing from the best in many paths and traditions and could experience them all as being compatible and complementary. And yet they had their own understandings and were captive of no one, not even each other, nor any teaching. They eschewed all forms of violence, and advocated creating a peaceful and harmonious world by using peaceful and harmonious means. They had no power structures, no set teachings, no leaders, gurus, figureheads or spokespersons.
Natural Family Living
They found it easy to offer all women, all children, and all peoples of all ages and all races equal respect, dignity and caring. They treasured children, and many practiced natural childbirth. The men were very involved with child rearing via gentleness, affection, empathy and respect, rather than restrictions and discipline. They found much value in traditional indigenous peoples and their teachings, and like them, experienced oneness with nature before almost anybody understood ecology. Being already emancipated, the women avoided lipstick, makeup, high-heels, tight skirts, short skirts, plunging necklines, and all other forms of sexual accoutrements that were catching on in much of mainstream society.
As a group, flower children were able to attune to, embrace, and enjoy fully wholistic and wholesome approaches to life that was unheard of at the time, and unimaginable to most people. These approaches to life include:
- ·a feeling for, and appreciation of nature, including adopting a natural, whole food diet, wearing natural clothing and living as natural, intelligent, biological beings;
- ·a sense of the cooperative and harmonious basis of all life, and of peaceful benevolence as a means to solving all problems, great and small, near and far;
- ·an experience of themselves as truly planetary citizens, beyond all nationalistic, ethnic, racial or religious barriers and constraints;
- a realisation of the immediacy of spirituality in everyday life, and being inspired by many spiritual traditions simultaneously, without any sense of conflict, including Zen, Sufism, yoga, mystical Christianity and various forms of traditional shamanism.
Flower Children were truly global citizens, concerned with world peace and harmony, and functioning as non-disrupting initiators, by choosing gentleness over violent confrontation as a means to promote societal transformation. They functioned very much in the background, leading from behind, embracing advanced understandings and life-affirming lifestyles that transcended the more uptight, staid and competitive ways of conventional mainstream living.
They successfully experimented with cooperative ways of living, including extended family groups, communal and tribal living, and discovered that they were able to live effortlessly, harmlessly, harmoniously and enjoyably, with few possessions, limited personal space and minimal privacy, as all participants treated each other with openness, gentleness, cooperation, honesty, love and trust.
They used few guidebooks, as it was such a new, ground-breaking way of living, without structures or leaders, by simply relying on the quality of relating, which they found natural, simple and effortless, reflecting, somewhat a childhood and adolescence sufficiently free of trauma, a belief in themselves, and a clear sense of how wonderful the future could be. This small and brief experiment broke huge ground as a living demonstration that true, natural, human nature is really a lot better than our education an even our upbringing had taught us, and that cooperative, uplifting, living arrangements were entirely possible, enjoyable, easy and economically advantageous.
Contributions to Sustainable communities
By creating and living in self-sufficient communes, they made one of their great contributions to our planetary future, as groundbreaking forerunners to wholistic, life-affirming, fully-designed sustainable communities. By living effortlessly, self-sufficiently, communally and in harmony with nature, they demonstrated what had never before been achieved in Western civilisation, and which people thought only traditional indigenous people were capable of doing. They broke the mould by demonstrating the cooperative, benevolent nature of people, and this enabled many others to understand that they would be able to live in cooperative and trusting, sustainable communities.
Successful sustainable living is about getting the all of the basic essentials right first. This is also called sustainable subsistence living, and contrasts with mainstream living today, where people seek entertainment and luxuries, but without having the crucial, basic essentials of good food, clean water, plentiful, affordable sensible housing, robust health, good education etc. When the basics are right, people feel fulfilled and tend not to bother with entertainment or luxuries, as amply demonstrated by the flower children.
They were followed by early pioneers in the 1970s, creating the first wave of pioneering sustainable communities and eventually in the 1980s professionally designed sustainable communities were created. Following decades saw additional, natural-based technologies, and further refinements in the form of specific sustainable templates, such as Co-housing, Eco-villages, Permaculture villages, etc.
They avoided the emotionally numbing, conscience dissolving, addictive, hard drugs that have become so problematic today. Instead choosing the psychedelic range of ingestives to enhance mind and mood access, the most commonly used being marihuana and LSD, each of which had at some time occupied a highly respected place in advanced parts of mainstream society.
Flower children regarded psychedelics as sacred substances to be treated with respect, and used them as sacraments, intuitively understanding that they fell within the less-is-more category. Marihuana was usually ingested in ceremonial settings. Habituating to marihuana was regarded as producing a less profound and less aesthetic effect with over-relaxing side effects, making it less enhancing of ones life.
Flower Children used LSD used for creative, visionary and insightful purposes, beyond improving visualisation. It was not unusual afterwards, for a person to spend several months in reflection and contemplation, processing and assimilating the immense understandings released, as they went about their normal lives, but in a wiser, more thoughtful and considerate, more insightful, light-hearted and humorous way.
Contributions to Greater Society
Flower children were our first group of natural planetary citizens, and proved to be true visionaries in ways that are only now beginning to be understood and appreciated. They predicted the now-current suite of global problems including pollution, ecological destruction, societal breakdown, wars and increased authoritarian control, if human societies did not lift their game, address the problems and move towards a world of peace and love, goodwill and trust, through:
- better, healthier, simpler, easier, creative ways of living;
- by applying one’s own understanding, in cooperative, trusting, unstructured ways;
- for immediate and long-term results at grass-roots level;
- so that everybody, the environment and the whole world is bettered.
Flower children taught us that being natural was completely valid and enabled effortless living. They also taught us that nature itself is nurturing, and works in cooperative harmony with whoever would work in cooperative harmony with it. Their legacy was to spearhead what has now become the practice of wholesome, creative, unproblematic, inexpensive, sustainable, pollution-free ways of living.
Whole-Brain, Emotionally-Open, Self-Actualisers
Flower children were spontaneous, peak-experiencing, visionary, emotionally open, whole-brain self-actualisers, who, by demonstrating simple and natural communal living, in simple, ordinary, gentle ways, made future sustainable community living understandable and more accessible to people in the broader, mainstream population, many of whom later become sustainable community developers. They were great social pioneers, and in many ways are still ahead of the current times.
Opening one’s heat chakra is the single most important thing anybody can do in their lifetime. The heart is the gateway to higher consciousness, or more accurately, our true consciousness that we lost when we closed our heart charka to avoid feeling emotional pain, after being heart-broken.
By 1970, post Woodstock, the essential lessons had been effortlessly mastered and well understood by the flower children. They had succeeded superbly and had created a comprehensive multi-skilled template for the future. The next step was beckoning, which was in the main to work towards the Aquarian age more broadly, including within mainstream. Others amongst them would develop self-sufficient communes into the next step of sustainable, intentional communities, while yet others would pursue higher consciousness itself in far greater depth.
With exquisite timing, and to the general agreement and applause of his friends, Scott Mckenzie: San Francisco: Wear some Flowers in Your Hair, cut his long hair short and declared that flower power was over. Group energies had been invoked, accepted, utilised and permanently anchored on the planet, and the next step in conscious evolution was about to begin, with the inflow of Eastern Consciousness teachings and practices.
They had chosen, as a group, to undergo a surface incarnation at the perfect time, with Uranus and Neptune in trine, and both sextile to Pluto. Their work, when still babies and infants, was to increase Light in the world during the war against extreme evil, then later take the lead and peacefully oppose the Vietnam War.
Their beneficent astrological birth configuration came into full expression during 1965-70, when Uranus conjuncted Pluto, with both sextiling Neptune. This enabled them to safely assist their own ascension process, using psychedelics and empathic group guidance. After already opening their Heart Chakras through open-hearted rock-n-roll, they floated off the illusionary matrix through LSD. Turn on to the psychedelics, tune in to ascended consciousness, drop out of the matrix.
Group Ascension is facilitated by participants who connect and work as responsible, coherent groups. This invokes Group Energies, and empowers a higher-level emerging Group Soul that uplifts them, as a group. Flower children exceeded and transcended these conditions by joining voluntarily, ecstatically, for the highest of purposes, and working harmoniously, effortlessly, joyously.
Flower Children were the first group-ascended 4D consciousness people. Advanced Lightworkers, in today’s terminology, and with a broad spiritual appreciation, they were able to create and live self-sufficiently in communes, in effortless harmony. By breaking with tradition and challenging many emotional and mental taboos for an entire population, they helped make the world ready for future Global Ascension, by creating templates for their own and future generations, demonstrating that Aquarian group energies were already fully alive in them.
After already opening their Heart Chakras through open-hearted rock-n-roll, they floated off the illusionary matrix through LSD. Turn on to the psychedelics, tune in to ascended consciousness, drop out of the matrix.
Subsequent experiences of following generations has shown that without the prior opening of the heart chakra, LSD and Ecstasy did not enable access to ascended consciousness, although the effects could still be highly pleasant and entertaining allowing temporary relief from the subconscious memory of emotional pain and fear of rejection and hurt.
The flower children spoke of the incoming Aquarian age of planetary peace, co-operation and abundance, which generally know today as Planetary and Biological Ascension. It would be characterised by the transition from closed-minded religion to open-hearted spirituality, where each person has a direct connection with the creator, which can be found within, and each is always individually responsible for their own spiritual wellbeing and evolution, including choosing which practices to undertake.
They then providing a living example of functional communal living, then opening bulk food stores, alternative bookshops, healing centres, etc, as an early revealing of a higher, 4th dimensional paradigm. They successfully manifested an enlightened, self-contained 4D society, within the mainstream, unenlightened 3D matrix society. Flower children spoke openly of the upcoming Aquarian Age, today known as Planetary Ascension, and did an incredibly good job of demonstrating an early manifestation, in the face of difficult, adverse circumstances, including extreme adverse publicity, and serious undermining by many mainstream authorities.
They informed us that it could unfold gracefully, (the singing and dancing option); or else it would be resisted and manifest through suffering, (the kicking and screaming option). But one way or the other, it would happen in the very near future.
As a cosmic event, we now know the Aquarian age to be a state of consciousness far beyond that of the Piscean age, as organised religion gives way to individual spirituality, outer authority gives way to inner knowing, and devotion to an external God becomes oneness with the God within.
Flower Children created timelines for a 4D Aquarian future through:
- a love of nature, and of all things natural, and in particular the flower kingdom;
- familiarity, comfort and ease at living close to nature;
- gentleness, caring and love of children;
- ability to transcend family upbringing and conventional education, remaining undamaged;
- ability to tune into a higher reality, and envision a positive, high-level future;
- ability to create and live in highly successful, self-sufficient city, rural and remote communes;
- living a joyous, futuristic existence effortlessly.
Wayshowers for Advanced Spiritual Teachings
Flower Children demonstrated enlightenment and prepared the way for an influx of Eastern teachings during the 1970s, which taught people about spiritual disciplines, meditation, enlightenment, and the part that auras, chakras and kundalini play in attaining higher levels of consciousness.
Spiritual development and the ability to meditate, as taught by Eastern teachers, enabled many people to progress and take the next step around the 1980s, and begin working consciously with their spirit guides. We all have spiritual guides assigned to each of us. Their influence is subtle and requires we be sensitive to promptings from within. Spirit guides have given out a gentler, more subtle and nuanced, higher-level teaching to emerge, that has enabled people to have intimate contact with Creator God, and with those greater Souls who work from higher levels to further the Divine Plan of upliftment of all beings, and the cosmic unfoldment of everything.
Global Elite or illusionati
Many people of the 60s and 70’s had explored debt-free, sound, sensible sustainable solutions, and as low-consumption, sustainable communities succeeded and numbers began flourishing, and began permeating mainstream. This went much against the grain of corporations who bridled at the reduced consumption by many young people, who were potentially their greatest cunsumers. The global elite of banksters feared this movement would grow and spread to challenge, and eventually undermine their debt-based, economic and financial control, through the reduction of consumption.
The global elite rejected the singing and dancing option, and sought to implement their own, elitist NWO, using the kicking and screaming alternative. To ensure greater control, the global elite changed the economics in the English-speaking countries, from where most flower children emerged, back to the regressive economics of competition, scarcity and debt, in a wild reprise of the crazy 1920s. This was achieved through enforcing the same regressive, cut-throat, market-place economics that set up the stock-market collapse and great depression in the 1930s.
Ascension Consciousness in the 1960s
Self-actualisation, or higher human functioning, was first noticed in the 1950s, in rare and exceptional individuals. It blossomed during the 1960s, and flourished the Flower Children, leading to a new appreciation of life, a questioning of the status quo, and an urge towards better ways of living.
Maslow studied healthy people and discovered that healthy individuals are motivated toward what he termed self-actualisation, and noted that self-actualising people had striking similar characteristics. He described self-actualisation as when:
“…the powers of the person come together in a particularly and intensely enjoyable way, and in which he is more integrated and less split, more open for experience, more idiosyncratic, more perfectly expressive or spontaneous, or fully functioning, more creative, more humorous more ego-transcending, more independent of his lower needs, etc. He becomes in these episodes more truly himself, more perfectly actualising his potentialities, closer to the core of his being, more fully human. Not only are these his happiest and most thrilling moments, but they are also moments of greatest maturity, individuation, fulfilment – in a word, his healthiest moments.
“Self-actualising people, those who have come to a high level of maturation, health and self-fulfilment, have so much to teach us that sometimes they seem almost like a different breed of human beings.”
The following descriptions have been compiled from the writings of Maslow and others.
1. Clearer perception of reality
Self-actualising people perceive reality more effectively than others and are more comfortable with it. They have an accurate perception of what exists rather than a distortion of perception by one’s needs, and possess an ability to be objective about their own strengths, possibilities and limitations. They judge experiences, people and things correctly and efficiently, and have an unusual ability to detect the spurious, the fake and the dishonest. They are not afraid of the unknown and can tolerate the doubt, uncertainty, and tentativeness accompanying the perception of the new and unfamiliar.
2. Acceptance of self, others, and nature.
Self-actualizing persons are not ashamed or guilty about their human nature, with its shortcoming, imperfections, frailties, and weaknesses. They can accept their own human shortcomings, without condemnation. Nor are they critical of these aspects of other people. They respect and esteem themselves and others. Moreover, they are honest, open, genuine, without pose or facade. They are not self-satisfied but are concerned about discrepancies between what is and what might be or should be in themselves, others, and society.
Self-actualising people are relatively spontaneous in their behaviour, and far more spontaneous than that in their inner life, thoughts and impulses Self-actualizing persons are not hampered by convention, but they do not flout it. They are not conformists, but neither are they anti-conformist for the sake of being so. They might act conventionally, but they seldom allow convention to keep them from doing anything they consider important or basic. They are not externally motivated or even goal-directed; rather their motivation is the internal one of growth and development, the actualization of themselves and their potentialities.
Self-actualising people have a problem-solving orientation towards life instead of an orientation centered on self. They are interested in solving problems; this often includes the problems of others. Solving these problems is often a key focus in their lives. They commonly have a mission in life, some problem outside themselves that enlists much of their energies. In general this mission is unselfish and is involved with the philosophical and the ethical.
5. Autonomy, independent of culture and environment.
Self-actualizing persons are not dependent for their main satisfactions on other people or culture or means-to-ends, or in general, on extrinsic satisfactions. Rather they are dependent for their own development and continued growth upon their own potentialities and latent resources. The meaning of their life is self-decision, self-governing and being an active, responsible, self-disciplined deciding person rather than a pawn or a person helplessly ruled by others.
6. Detachment and the need for solitude
Self-actualising people enjoy solitude and privacy. It is often possible for them to remain above the battle, unruffled and undisturbed by that which upsets others. They may even appear to be asocial. It is perhaps, related to an abiding sense of security and self-sufficiency.
7. Continued freshness of appreciation.
Self-actualising people have a wonderful capacity to appreciate again and again the basic pleasures of life. They experience awe, pleasure, and wonder in their everyday world, such as nature, children, music and sexual experience. They approach these basic experiences with awe, pleasure, wonder and even ecstasy.
8. The mystic experience, the oceanic feeling.
Self-actualising people commonly have mystic or `peak’ experiences or times of intense emotions in which they transcend self. During a peak experience, they experience feelings of ecstasy, awe, and wonder with feelings of limitless horizons opening up, feelings of unlimited power and at the same time feelings of being more helpless than ever before. The experience ends with the conviction that something extremely important and valuable has happened so that the person is to some extent transformed and strengthened by the experience that has a carry-over into everyday life.
9. Oneness with humanity.
Self-actualising people have deep feelings of identification, sympathy and affection for other people, and a deep feeling of empathy and compassion for human beings in general. This feeling is, in a sense, unconditional in that it exists along with the recognition of the existence in others of negative qualities that may provoke occasional anger, impatience, and disgust.
10. Deep interpersonal relations.
Self-actualising people have deeper and more profound inter-personal relationships than most adults, but not necessarily deeper than children. They are capable of more closeness, greater love, more perfect identification, more erasing of ego boundaries than other people would consider possible. One consequence is that self-actualised people have especially deep ties with rather few individuals and their circle of friends is small. They tend to be kind or at least patient to almost everyone, yet they do speak realistically and harshly of those whom they feel deserve it, especially the hypocritical, pretentious, pompous or the self-inflated individual.
11. Democratic character structure.
Self-actualising people are democratic in the deepest possible sense. They are friendly towards everyone regardless of class, education political beliefs, race or colour. They believe it is possible to learn something from everyone. They are humble in the sense of being aware of how little they know in comparison with what could be known and what is known by others. he is ready and willing to learn from anyone. He respects everyone as potential contributors to his knowledge, merely because they are human beings.
12. Ethical means towards moral ends.
Self-actualizing persons are highly ethical. They clearly distinguish between means and ends and subordinate means to ends. Their notions of right and wrong and of good and evil are often not conventional ones.
13. Philosophical, unhostile sense of humor.
Self-actualising people have a keen, unhostile sense of humour. They don’t laugh at jokes that hurt other people or are aimed at others inferiority. They can make fun of others in general, or of themselves, when they are foolish or try to be big when they are small. They are inclined towards thoughtful humour that elicits a smile, is intrinsic to the situation, and spontaneous.
Self-actualising are highly imaginative and creative. The creativity involved here is not special-talent creativeness. It is a creativeness potentially inherent in everyone but usually suffocated by acculturation. It is a fresh, naive, direct way of looking at things, rather similar to the naive and universal creativeness of unspoiled children.
Flower Children demonstrated mass self-actualisation when they group-ascended between 1967 and 1970, and set templates for the then future Aquarian age, that is today known as Global Ascension, and is currently underway.
When Two Hemispheres Become ONE
Improved Social Consciousness
The generally enthusiastic, wholesome, optimistic thrust towards a better world by post-war societies through improving living conditions had raised the level of openness, trust, goodwill etc, amongst people, improving the quality of interpersonal relationships, and facilitating self-actualisation amongst those many participating in the new personal and social liberation.
Self-actualisation became an increasingly familiar experience of more and more people, in many sections of society. It was even more prevalent in universities and other places of higher learning and forward thinking included a significant number of people at the top of their fields, including an inordinate number of university professors who were breaking new ground as they explored the cutting edge. Some of these people’s outstanding contributions are utilised in this text.
Self-actualisation involves bringing into fruition aspects of a person’s inner life not normally accessed, and enables a deeper appreciation and understanding of the human potential to emerge, including experiencing ‘left brain’ and ‘right brain’ functioning, as distinct and complimentary ways of relating to the world.
We each have two primary ways of understanding ourselves and comprehending the world around us. One is to do with our feelings; the other is to do with our thinking. We have:
- a feeling, sensing, adapting, relating function, that all people are born with, and use freely in their formative years. It is our primary way of relating, and forms the basis of our inner, personal reality, and our deeper, more meaningful relationships. This part most often becomes suppressed in western cultures.
- A curious, questioning, understanding function. This has been hijacked and turned into a comparing, analysing, deducing, interpreting function, because that is of interest industry, so schools and other learning institutions train people obey orders and follow instructions, and thus be compatible with existing mainstream systems, methods and processes.
As a form of symbolic shorthand, these have now become known as “right-brain” and “left-brain” functioning.
Right-brain refers to the natural, sensing, feeling, empathic, intuitive, artistic, poetic, impulsive, open-hearted, “feeling mind”, that is in touch with the natural world, and is considered to take place predominantly in the right-hemisphere and as nerves cross over at the back of the neck, the left-side of the body. It describes the traditional, indigenous approach to life that typifies their cultures around the world, and is represented by the arts in western cultures.
The right brain performs vital complementary and overseeing functions to left brain thinking, such scanning, linking, the capacity get feel and a grasp of something, and to a sense of proportion, and to be sensitive to nuances of meaning, etc. It is the primary, empathically responsive, flexible, sliding-scale, analogue, win/win, intuitive, feminine, cooperative, feeling ‘brain’, and is what the feeling part of the person connects to.
Left-brain refers to the logical, sequential, deductive, reductionist, analytical “thinking mind”, that is considered to take place, predominantly in the left hemisphere, and the right side of the body. It forms the western intellectual, scientific, rational, materialistic tradition. It is the secondary, rigid, inflexible, all-or-nothing, win/lose, digital, masculine, competitive, thinking ‘brain’.
It became the overwhelmingly dominant paradigm with the event of the industrial revolution, when people were trained to be logical, methodological, reliable and predictable, to drive the engines of industry. It has been taught in classrooms ever since the industrial revolution. In most developed nations, the left-brain, logical, sequential mind has now come to dominate and even overwhelm and suppress almost all appearances of natural, spontaneous right-brain functioning, which are regarded as unpredictable, impulsive and disruptive of the methodological needs of modern commerce and industry.
Limitations of the Left-Brain Paradigm
On its own, and without right-brain input, the left-brain mind is logical, good at deductive reasoning, convergent thinking and specialised detail within clearly defined boundaries; but is also locked into the past, cannot see the forest for the trees, and unable to think outside of the box, to use some of its own clichés about itself.
The left brain also suffers from the ‘frog-in-the-saucepan’ syndrome, where it adapts to, identifies with, and can no longer discern important changes, either positive or negative, to the situation that it has become blinded to. The story of the Japanese soldier still doing sentry duty on an island many years after the war has ended, is a classic left brain issue and demonstrates how faulty or obsolete programs do not automatically extinguish. As a consequence left-brain tends to misperceive changing conditions as a continuation of the same. It is not connected to nature or one’s own inner nature, which is the right-brain’s highly important job; it always feels far too far from God, which is also the right brain’s province. It cannot handle cognitive dissonance, and tends to reject all that does not fit existing programs hardwired into memory, and then rationalises the decision. Taken together, it is comprehensively disconnected from the real reality.
The left brain cannot join the dots, whether between synchronous or disjointed events, or those spanning over time, and thus true causal links are unseen. Looking ahead becomes reduced to a linear extrapolation of more-of-the-same. Breaking new ground becomes slow, incremental, jerky, haphazard and torturous, and often only happens in a crisis, when there is no longer any choice.
Rock-n-roll began as powerfully, unabashed, and almost exclusively, joyful, right-brain, feeling music, unlike say, most classical and jazz, which typically have an overriding mental appeal, or are left-brain dominant. At its very beginning, rock-n-roll picked up the alienated youth of the day, who responded to the music’s immediacy and emotional vibrancy. Rock-n-roll instantly breathed a new life into many alienated, emotionally-starved youth and young adults.
As rock-n-roll went through its rapid growth and development period, it carried many of each succeeding sub-generation along with it, taking them through the progressive, expansive changes underway. In the space of little over ten years, rock-n-roll had come to play a major part in morphing many adolescents and young adults from delinquent gang members into gentle, sensitive and aware flower children, who clearly had both hemispheres actively communicating to each other.
Typically, many artists, poets and musicians find left-hemispheric, analytical thinking to be difficult. Some are able to function either way, but only one way at a time. Self-actualisers had discovered their creative, artistic, intuitive, emotionally intelligent, right-here right-now, right-hemisphere, and were finding the dominant paradigm of the day was hemming them in. Self-actualisers had somehow managed to master the linear, rational and logical thought processes, without suppressing their normal, right-brain functioning into subconsciousness, as commonly happens, and were able to apply insight and intuition to those thought processes, broadening, deepening and refining them, and using both hemispheres confluently, to manifest a coherent understanding and an illumined approach to life. Thinking in a completely new way.
“Whole-brain” refers to the confluent, inter-active, integrated activity of both ways of hemispheres, which is relatively unknown in mainstream society. When confluence occurs, the experience can be that of satori, enlightenment, inspiration, illumination, self-actualisation, etc, giving the person inordinate acumen, perspicacity, acuity and wisdom. It could perhaps be termed “Spherical Consciousness”, in acknowledgement of conjoining two hemispheres. It is human fulfilment, how people are naturally, and how all human beings are supposed to develop.
By the second half of the 1960s, significant and increasing numbers of people were having overwhelmingly positive, inner experiences of their own essential being, with its natural clarity and capacity for understanding, spontaneous love for all beings and compassionate concerns for all unnecessary suffering on the planet. All of this seemed to invoke a response from their own inner faculties, revealing higher-level insights about ways of living that are simple, elegant, wholesome and self-evident.
In such a positive and creative social environment, self-actualisation was becoming more common and catalytic. People experienced themselves sparking positively off one another and entered states of co-operative empathy, or “contact highs”. What originated mainly on the west coast of USA, mid 1960s quickly arose in many other parts of the world – especially on the east coast of Australia, and in New Zealand, England, Germany and other parts of Europe.
Confluence and Coherence
Self-actualisers were finding that their natural self-awareness was naturally sorting their thinking processes, to become more tidy and orderly, and reconnecting in ways that gave sense and meaning to past events. Their natural enlightened minds began emerging through the confines of their school-trained linear minds, and shedding new understanding. They were becoming whole-brain confluent and coherent, spontaneously capable of inductive reasoning and parallel, lateral and divergent thinking, and were wide open to new ideas, novel viewpoints, insights, intuitions and inspirations.
With the addition of their right-hemisphere, creative side enabling whole-brain confluence, they were also open to divergent and integrative thinking, novel and innovative cutting-edge ideas, capable of making broad sweeps, grasping complex interactions, integrating diverse ideas, joining the dots between synchronous events, bridging separate disciplines, seeing the larger picture, intuiting trends, envisaging creative ideas and conceiving integrated, multiple win-win solutions.
People were discovering that the journey was ongoing, and actually the point, as it ensured growth, that getting there is done by being here now. Many were becoming naturally present-centred, with awareness and self-awareness replacing the usual pre-occupations and intrusive mental distractions. In place of compulsive thinking, or needing to ‘make up one’s mind’ people were finding they were now able to hold their mind in abeyance. Beliefs, which had been long-held in the subconscious as unquestionable, assumed truths, were loosening and surfacing into consciousness to become examinable working hypotheses, capable of being inspected and challenged from varying viewpoints and under differing parameters, and open to refinement and modification. Rigid minds were becoming malleable, amenable to experience and insight, and malleable minds were becoming holographic, able to glean patterns, trends and understandings from instances of life’s experiences.
Now people were finding themselves able to source from their own subconscious (an area previously feared, avoided, and even shunned, especially by westerners), a living, insightful wisdom, distilled from the essence of their life’s successes and failures. Mental perceptions were becoming clearer and sharper, and more nuanced.
A natural harmony could be intuited as already existing behind an artificially created rigid order, imposed over what had been long misunderstood as primeval chaos. Life as naturally lived could be experienced as intrinsically purposeful and meaningful and made a whole lot of sense. Life was no longer chaotic, or some arbitrary, random happenstance that required us to control, manipulate and exploit.
Those who were experiencing this new, more meaningful, more coherent, confluent reality, were also finding that their own unique appreciations and understandings were highly compatible with, and mutually enhancing of other’s unique understandings. Where people had previously adopted conflicting views, they could now see complimentary shades of differences, pointing to a greater, richer, more complete and satisfying understanding.
They began to discover solutions to long-standing problems, and could see that it was possible to live without creating problems. They could see that everybody could live without having to exploiting one another, and it was completely possible to create planetary peace and harmony for everybody.
There seemed to be a significant process occurring that enabled a person to be fully invested in the present moment, in a state of concurrent, multilevel awareness. Self-actualisers were experiencing themselves as being on the very cutting edge of a continuing, graceful, unfolding transition, as if an amazing and exiting future was actually coming to meet them, and unfolding in front of them. An optimistic, wholesome, wholistic, creative, forward-looking, possibilities-based solutions-orientated, imaginative envisaging was emerging, all the time overseen by a clear discernment. Creativity had taken on completely new meanings.
Whole-brain people are open minded. They enjoy not forming beliefs in order to kill questioning, but holding the mind open and allowing more information to enter until a comprehensive understanding arises that answers all perspectives and is free of internal conflict. Open-minded people can function with ‘tentative, partial answers, that avoid hard beliefs.
The open mind does not resort to logical or sequential thinking. It abides in its natural awareness and self-awareness. Awareness is free from scepticism, gullibility, prejudice, or any other distorting factor. Self-awareness is free of self-criticism or self-rejection, or any other form of undermining negativity.
The right-brain is naturally open-hearted, and open-hearted people are naturally right-brained. The open-heart is not defensive or protecting of its hurts. It is accepting and self-accepting. Acceptance is free from cynicism and fear of disappointment. Self-acceptance is free from self-pity, self-indulgence and emotional defensiveness.
Whole Brain people are open hearted (right-brain) and open minded (left-brain). They are aware and accepting, self-aware and self-accepting. They are capable of unconditional love for all beings.
Some people began experiencing their own inner creative nature without having realised that it had been there to discover, and when they did discover it, they then realised they had it had always been there all of the time. They had simply been tuned away from it and had not noticed it before.
People were experiencing a way of being, living and relating that was natural, simple, easy, elegant and insightful. Applied to their profession or their work, many resolutions to constraining and limiting situations were becoming apparent, even obvious.
Whole-Brain, Life-Affirming Discoveries
The Future is Now
Flower power, as the pinnacle expression of open-hearted and open-minded psychological freedom, infected and affected the world in a wholly positive way. The message of peace, love and brown rice (meaning a healthy diet), traveled around the world, and gave all ordinary people a feeling of acceptance, and self-acceptance, freeing the consciousness from its learned constraints. By the 1970s, many innovative, life-affirming, wholistic discoveries were emerging, contributing to a whole, new creative way of approaching and living life. Self-actualisers were experiencing a way of being and relating, that was simple, easy, elegant and insightful, which felt utterly ordinary and completely natural. Many could sense life as an intrinsic, already-existing, underlying natural harmony, and not some primordial chaos, as was commonly believed. Life, when naturally lived, was now experienced as intrinsically purposeful and meaningful, and no longer some arbitrary, random happenstance, which we needed to control and manipulate.
An optimistic, wholesome, wholistic, creative, forward-looking, possibilities-based, solutions-orientated, imaginative, envisaging was emerging. Creativity had taken on new meanings. Self-actualisers were now discovering solutions to long-standing problems, and could see that it was possible to live without creating problems. They could see that everybody could live without exploiting one another, and it was completely possible to create planetary peace and harmony for everybody. For some it was obvious, even self-evident.
Hierarchical structures were starting to become more flattened, with fewer levels, to improve effectiveness. Networking among key people became the new way to get things happening, giving rise to the ‘informal’ organisation chart of how things actually worked. Informal conversations, it was discovered, sometimes generated more and better ideas than formally structured brainstorming groups. Many transformative ideas were percolating up from lower echelons – creativity was even, and sometimes especially at the coalface. Conventional wisdom was turning on its head. “Getting it right first time – no excuses for trial and error”, became a common orientation that sensitive and aware people were adopting. A new way of approaching life and work was emerging.
Open Universities and Discussion Groups
“Open” universities were run on campuses, outside of normal lecture hours, sharing ideas and exploring cutting-edge issues that were too new to be offered in lectures, but which were far more vital, relevant, optimistic and interesting. Conducted more as open discussions, subjects included ways to increase wealth harmlessly, and ways to measure genuine national wellbeing, victimless capitalism, altered states of consciousness, humanity’s higher nature, group dynamics, planetary co-operation, peace studies, ecology, future studies, etc. For many it was as if they had walked into the future, where everyone had insight into the present. Some of these subjects have since become mainstream university courses.
Right-Brain Teaching and Activities
Courses teaching an understanding of right-brain nature and activity were combined with courses offering activities that drew upon the right side of the brain, and included undirected, spontaneous art, etc.
Such unprecedented co-operation gave rise to the sense of the coherent group – people coming together for purposes of mutual enrichment. Inter-personal and group psychologies studied the dynamics of interactions, and the ways that people, because they affect one another dynamically, can contribute to the harmony and creativity of the whole group, and thence achieve outcomes far in excess of the sum of human inputs, resulting in an ‘ever-expanding, spiralling upwards’. Under group conditions, growth in consciousness became thought of as exponential.
Group psychology became the new, cutting-edge field of understanding. Group dynamics, where the positive, creative energy of a group could uplift all of its members, began entering into sociological and psychological circles. The interactive group became the preferred method of teaching management to executives. The therapeutic group became the most effective tool for psychological healing. The usual idea of the powerful leader and passive followers gave way to the valid and empowering group, where interactivity in an atmosphere of openness and goodwill could enable the group functioning as a whole to understand, inspire, cognise and resolve on a level well beyond what individual contributions could achieve.
Community Households and Neighbourhoods
Creating community households, of like-minded persons became a more acceptable way to live, and more advantageous. Increasingly, houses were networked together to pool and share where interests overlapped and save time, energy, outlays, etc. As community households became more prevalent, city neighbourhoods of many community-households developed into large, informal, sprawling communities, with information exchanges, food co-ops, resource centres, bartering and work-sharing arrangements, enabling a more relaxed, higher quality of life. City living in these areas became exiting and delightful, free from exploitation, crime and abusive living.
Learning Exchanges and Resource Centers
People loaned and pooled their books to become neighbourhood lending libraries, focussing on the emerging aspects of better living, much of which could not be found in conventional mainstream libraries. Resource centres were set up to allow people to disseminate their new understandings and share their experiences and new skills with interested others.
Home-Based Self-Employment and Cottage Industries
Many people began using their skills to enable self-employment – working for oneself, setting up ones’ own business, and working out of home became a new and empowering way of approaching work and business for many liberated people, saving on expenses, enabling 24 hr ready access to the work environment, and allowing far greater control of their own personal lives, by giving greater family time, etc.
For some people it meant they could now work according to their needs, their interests and their biological clock, rather than being compelled to follow the some rigid 9-5 Monday to Friday regime. This enriched many neighbourhoods, and also provided the lead and created the groundwork for the emerging service industry that plays a major role today.
Providing a wide range of in-depth books in subjects not yet understood by mainstream bookstores, including ecology, hand-made houses, natural therapies, Buddhism, Sufism, Taoism, yoga, metaphysics, meditation, whole-food cooking, organic gardening, etc, as people studied and discussed and explored and experimented amongst themselves to find out what worked and how, and how to adapt it for their own local needs. Today, many of these have found their way into mainstream bookstores.
Backyard organic gardens became ways to produce health-promoting food, live off the land, and become more self-sufficient. Organic gardening is farming sensitively and intelligently, without chemicals, pollution or soil degradation, using only natural products that continuously improve the soil. Organic produce became known to be tastier, more nutritious, more disease resistant food. Organics has entered the marketplace, commanding premium prices for produce.
Organic and Bulk Food Coops
Neighbourhoods could purchase excellent organic produce at very good prices by organising a bulk and whole foods co-op to enable purchasing direct from suppliers, and then redistributing at low cost. This often provided a friendly neighbourhood focus where volunteers could work together for the improvement of neighbourhoods. Some food coops evolved to become the health food shops of today.
One of the effects of contacting ones inner being is the appreciation of and taste for natural foods. People found their nutritional needs emerging as specific hungers, previously thought to occur only in pregnant women. By adhering to a natural diet, bodies become sensitive to and hungry for what is nourishing for their needs. The right foods to nourish and strengthen a body’s weak points are the first line of medicine, and give rise to those specific hungers that will address those needs, empowering bodies with vitality and resilience, without engaging in fad diets, or needing to go to athletic extremes.
Complimenting natural diet was the urge towards gentler, natural medicines. Food as medicine, herbs, Homeopathy, Schuessler cell salts, Bach flower remedies, acupressure, massage, etc. were found to be effective for strengthening various aspects of the constitution, were harmless and free of side effects, and could be practiced at home by oneself and with peers. Many of these natural healing modalities acted on more subtle levels of the human constitution, that are only now beginning to be understood in the more advanced mainstream medical circles of thought. Homeopathy can be used at first aid levels, and at deeper levels, used to correct inherited genetic weaknesses and flaws; cell salts are used to replenish 12 basic salts that are present in the human constitution; Bach flower remedies are 38 individual remedies to heal subtle nuances of the emotional constitution. Much natural medicine is now know as wholistic medicine.
The cutting edge of therapy moved from psychoanalysis and behaviourism to humanistic therapies, as patients became clients and the focus shifted from social adjustment to self-actualisation. Different, but complementary therapies emerged to deal with pivotal events that mark the loss of, or more accurately, the covering over and blocking out of this essential essence by shock and trauma, denial, and introjected qualities – those unconsciously taken on by the person. Rebirthing alleviates birth trauma, from which clients had not healed. Primal Therapy deals with a major split in consciousness that often takes place in needs-deprived children around 5-7 years old, and which maintains for the rest of the person’s life as the drive for symbolic satisfactions. Gestalt Therapy deals with whatever the client is in chronic avoidance of, and which, when discovered and owned, reintegrates the person, and Client-Centered Therapy assists acceptance of whatever troubling experiences the client is inclined towards focusing on, to enable dissolution.
Massage and Body Work
Many people learned Swedish massage, Rolfing, Shiatsu, Alexander Technique, Postural Integration, Muscle Testing, Touch for Health, and other forms of remedial bodywork to relieve the body of muscle cramps, energy blocks, emotional blocks and buried memories retained within the body.
Sexual Healing and Transcendence
Some people joined ashrams and practiced celibacy to break the captivating enthral of dysfunctional sexuality and overcome the “negative” emotions of fear, jealousy, insecurity, guilt and addiction, and enable intimacy, based upon shared feelings to take its proper primary place; whilst others else embraced tantric practices to master and transform sexual energy to facilitate access to truer states of consciousness.
Meditation is essentially about stilling the body, resting the thinking mind, abiding in the natural self- awareness that precedes and underlies the mind, becoming one with the love that underlies self-awareness, and reconnecting with ones own higher intuitive and visionary faculties that function in delicate, sensitive, compassionate and super-intelligent ways.
Some natural effects of meditation are:
- de-stressing the body, emotions and mind;
- healing past injuries, shocks, traumas;
- healing and transforming pain and unresolved suffering into compassionate wisdom;
- dissolving false assumptions, faulty logic, preconceived ideas, and prejudices;
- experiencing truer states of consciousness;
- abiding in pure self-awareness and love;
- becoming receptive to insight, intuition, inspiration and vision.
Biofeedback machines enabled experimenters to audibly or visually, monitor brainwave activity, muscle activity and skin temperatures, as they were occurring, enabling gaining control of delicate, complex subtle internal processes, long believed to be involuntary, and enable greater internal harmony. This enabled internal correction of illnesses including high blood pressure, ulcers, impotence, incontinence, headaches, tinnitus, asthma attacks, paralysis after strokes, etc.
So interesting was the new trend towards liberating ideas, that the study of consciousness itself, and alternative, higher states of consciousness became the most interesting and intriguing subject of all. A broad-based, healthy-person, therapeutic psychology developed. Variously called the “human potential movement”, “transpersonal psychology”, “full humane-ness psychology”, this exploration transcended the uninspiring dichotomy of psychoanalysis vs. behaviourism, and introduced a psychology that was exiting, even exhilarating. New, wholesome systems of politics, commerce, management, working, religion, medicine etc, were explored, discussed, experimented with, written about, and taught in courses. Ecology entered mainstream thinking and became a brand new science. A wholistic paradigm was emerging that enabled a larger, friendlier, more inclusive approach to life.
Paralleling to movement towards societal reform was an equally powerful movement towards individual, personal reform as people sought to tap in and reveal their inner potentials. Psychedelics gave way to Yoga, Zen, Sufism, and other practices that deepened self-awareness that a person could do without external props such as ingestives. Buddhist and other forms of meditation were practised as ways to quieten the mind and allow a deeper, inner awareness to emerge. Encounter groups and humanistic therapies replaced psychoanalysis as the preferred way to heal the emotions and mind
Kinder, more gentle forms of birthing arose, that usually employed working with nature, and included La Maze, LeBoyer, water birthing and home-birthing. Care was taken to ensure the baby’s entry into this world is caring and nurturing, and not stressful or traumatic.
Playgroups and Creative Education
Allowing children to learn from play and interaction became seen as highly important to the developing child. Many forms of education were experimented with, including Summerhill, Steiner and Montessori schools, each of which emphasise aspects of children’s necessary growth needs.
Futurologist Marilyn Fergusson made a comprehensive study of the social and cultural change throughout the 1960s and 1970s and captured the essence as follows:
“A leaderless but powerful network is working to bring about radical change… Its members have broken with key elements of western thought, and they may even have broken continuity with history.
“This network is without a political doctrine, without a manifesto. With participants who seek power only to disperse it, and whose strategies are pragmatic, even scientific, but whose perspective sounds so mystical that they hesitate to discuss it. People asking different kinds of questions, challenging the establishment from within.
“Broader than reform, deeper than revolution, this benign movement for a new human agenda has triggered the most rapid cultural realignment in history. The great shift overtaking us is not a new political, religious or philosophical system. It is a new mind – the ascendance of a startling worldview that gathers into its framework breakthrough science and insights from earliest recorded thought.
“Participants range across all levels of income and education, from the humblest to the highest. There are schoolteachers and office workers, Famous scientists, government officials and lawmakers, artists and millionaires, taxi drivers and celebrities, leaders in medicine, education, law and psychology. They are in corporations, universities and hospitals, on the faculties of schools, in factories and doctor’s offices….
“They are linked by their inner discoveries. You can break through old limits, past inertia and fear to levels of fulfilment that once seemed impossible – richness of choice, freedom, human closeness. Problems can be experienced as challenges, a chance for renewal, rather than stress. Habitual defensiveness and worry can fall away. It can all be different.
“For the first time in history, we have come upon the control panel of change.”
Contributions to the Future
Many of these breakthrough discoveries have become regular mainstream items, and have contributed significantly to transitioning our civilisation out from the mechanistic 1950s, and opening it up to a bright new optimistic future. Some are still regarded by many as belonging to a sci-fi future yet to happen, even though they may be practised today in not so obvious places to avoid pushing it in the faces of intolerant conformists to the status quo, which may not be the most optimum way to facilitate advancement.
A New, Whole-brain, 4D Paradigm For Living
There is a natural, wholistic, integrated, cooperative, nurturing and regenerating, life-affirming, self-actualising, consciously aware paradigm of understanding and engaging life, which opens up a whole new dimension to living, being and relating. It has been added to and expanded ever since to offer every aspect of life and endeavour a creative, optimistic problem-free way of fulfilling living, that solves and heals existing problems. It is our future.
This paradigm is how whole-brain, self-actualising people are inclined to act, when free from the constraining impositions of the mechanical paradigm. Some aspects of this paradigm that have relevance to intentional communities are described over.
Enjoying the Whole-Brain Paradigm
Living from Joy and Inner Directedness
Transcending the Old Paradigm
The wholesome thrust of recreating society after WW2 enabled humanity to embark on a genuine fresh start. The urge and commitment to create a better society was overwhelmingly an enjoyable experience, was not too difficult to do, and was, by almost any measure a resounding success. The masses had created a decent society that was trending towards becoming more caring, creative, wholesome and sensible.
The global society had taken a major step towards planetary peace and prosperity, and the vast majority of people were happy with the outcome. And deservedly so – it was good enough to enable many, mainly younger generation to discover their own unique personal power, which enabled them to envisage, discover and create benevolent, non-harmful, sustainable solutions in all relevant spheres of life, by responding to inspiration and inner direction.
The rebuilding process created an unexpected, unintended and very important discovery,– society itself had created a milieu conducive to self-actualisation, which guided and induced some people into shedding their constraining façade and becoming their true self, opening up a greater world of creative possibilities. By inadvertently creating the conditions that led to self-actualisation, they had:
- discovered a whole “higher” more wiser, compassionate, gentler and effective inner nature that fulfils the person;
- discovered that there can be a process which will facilitate unlocking the inner nature;
- discovered that society itself in its ordinary, everyday interactions can provide the conditions for self-actualisation that can be as safe and effective as professional personal therapy;
Peaceful, People-Led Reform
This was not any institution led transformation. The seeds of change were in general discovered by imminent people at the top of their profession, breaking new ground during the 1950s. Their books flourished during the 1960s, which contributed significantly to people “opening up” and enjoying a better experience of themselves. New, creative discoveries came to be enjoyed as a common, ongoing, grass roots experience, and incorporated into their personal lives. Cutting-edge therapists had been describing the advanced tip of a growing realisation in consciousness, spontaneously emerging. In applying their new-found appreciation of life, a natural, cooperative, life-affirming, self-actualising paradigm emerged.
Some of these discoveries transcended anything the institutions understood, believed in, or could adapt to, as they were still playing out the old paradigm in their staid, predictable, backward-looking manner. These changes were occurring in people because of the people themselves, by how well they were actually relating to themselves and one another. By committing themselves creating a better society and a better world, they were able to improve their relationships socially, until the social milieu itself began uplifting people as a safe, wholesome and ecstatic experience. People found that when they gathered in groups for a higher purpose, an uplifting energy developed, that drew each person into a higher state of consciousness that they shared in common. The complete opposite to the consciousness-lowering experiences of mob rule.
A way had opened up into a better reality where all interactivity could be growth producing in the best sense of the term. People were naturally and energetically, blossoming into a wholistic paradigm of trust, goodwill and cooperation.
Enjoying the Life-Affirming Paradigm
By the early 1970s, it had become apparent to many that there is a way of understanding, which integrated the local and the global, the micro and the macro, the personal and the societal, the short and long term, which enabled well-motivated people, especially in groups, to evolve creative solutions that work on all levels and timeframes. For some it was the most exiting, ecstatic, nurturing, empowering, never-ending mind-blowing experience, way beyond imaginings. People were seeing and experiencing life in much friendlier terms, thinking far more creatively, and functioning more effectively.
A common basic understanding of a truly workable, unproblematic way of life was understood by a significant sub-section of western society, and was trickling through into mainstream, offering a wholesome, optimistic, easier and more workable way of connecting with ourselves, each other and the natural world, that benefited the planet as a whole. “Small is beautiful”, and “Think globally, act locally” became familiar catch-cries, and were being lived in all manner of small, local settings. Many people found their lives falling into place in the most exquisite ways.
People were now discovering solutions to long-standing problems, and could see that it was possible to live without creating problems. They could see that everybody could live without having to exploiting one another, and it was completely possible to create planetary peace and harmony for everybody. The youth had shown us our future.
Sustainable solutions are durable and require little maintenance. They can be more expensive to implement initially, but are always far less inexpensive to maintain, and this increases over time. Sustainable solutions are free from obsolescence, do not pollute nor degrade the ecology, and have a vastly reduced ecological footprint. This means they are a net plus to the betterment of society and the world in general. They also minimise consumption and expenditure, and are free of chronic indebtedness or dependence on ongoing or repeat business.
If everybody embraced sustainability, economics would naturally reform itself, away from greed and exploitation and towards a more considerate, wholesome, ecology-friendly, sharing and sustainable form of economics, not through imposition and not dramatically, but gently and gradually, through people embracing healthy choices made by informed, caring, intelligent well-motivated people. This would lead to far greater egalitarianism all levels, from the local to the global.
Hope for the Future
The message of creating planetary peace and goodwill had spread right around the planet, carried by the media, and had been accepted by the masses of ordinary people, and without being blocked, mocked or derided. Society was mellowing, from an overly controlled post-war reconstruction, through decades of stable, responsible work and living, towards a truly open society, in a far more peaceful, trusting world.
For a period of time, there was even growing hope that mainstream society would choose to embrace the obvious next step, that of a peacefully integrated planet, free of all major problems, and based on sustainability, cooperation, goodwill and trust, rather than pursue an unsustainable lifestyle that would lead to greater destruction, pollution, famine and wars. As it became apparent that the positive-future option was not going to be embraced, increasing numbers of people turned towards creating their own communities of sustainability, nurturing, peace and goodwill.
The Natural Person
By the 1970s, it was known, individually, and in common by many empowered, self-actualising people around the planet, that we each have an essence that is our own individual uniqueness, that we share in common, and is where we contact each other at the deepest, most meaningful level. Over the last several decades, this essence has been discovered and rediscovered, in different ways, as a consequent of varied practices, and has come to be known by many names, each of which express nuances of various experiences of a rich, inner consciousness. Terms include inner being, inner self, higher self, higher consciousness, super-consciousness, true consciousness, real consciousness, original nature, essential nature, true nature, authentic nature, essence, and authentic self.
These terms show the pervasiveness, richness and commonality of this realization. Those who experience their essence, or who have studied it in others, perceive some common themes:
- a centre of integrity and identity at the very core of our being – our deepest nature is unconditional love and allowing, able to experience loving kindness, helpfulness, consideration, compassion, and manifesting in the world as a loving, healing, compassionate, wise social nature,
- a life-enriching, sensitive, feeling nature, that links us to all other living beings and is able to experience acceptance, oneness, purity, innocence, sacredness, joy, ecstasy, rapture, bliss;
- a natural, understanding mind, incurably curious to understand the ultimate mysteries of life, and able to work with clarity, alertness, awareness, acumen, intuition, insight, illumination, perspicacity, integration, understanding, equanimity;
- a wise, integrated physical body, attuned to nature and able to balance and heal itself and abide in naturalness, calmness, peacefulness, wholeness, wholesomeness, healthiness;
One of the most important discoveries about the nature of one’s essence is that it is pre-cultural, pre-gender, pre-class, pre-age and pre-education. Irrespective of a person’s upbringing, racial heritage or gender or life experiences, it still exists as pure essence, and is the meeting point where people can contact each other in truth, at deeper and more meaningful levels than the superficial trappings of society can provide.
The inner essence, which is the real us, knows no hatred, envy, jealousy or vindictiveness, and is caringly cooperative, rather than ruthlessly competitive. In reality, we are an essence, and we have, a body, mind, emotions, and personality, that our essence, if we allow it, will express itself through. Our essence is our true, most basic identity, the part of us that is wise, compassionate and allowing. That is who we really are, all of the time, beneath the mis-constructed, out of touch overlay.
This part of us, which is the real us, is attuned to nature, and can sense some of natures rhythms and flows, and is always working towards greater enrichment greater balance, greater resilience.
Basic Life Principles
All exists as consciousness, and every living thing has its own consciousness. We might say colloquially that we are conscious, our souls are super-conscious and God is cosmic consciousness.
Creator God of this universe exists as the highest and purist, infinite, creative and nurturing energies on an infinite, unlimited, eternal scale: as supernal wisdom, unconditional love, infinite compassion, utter forgiveness, unwavering mercy, etc. Together these compassionate, nurturing energies can be regarded as the Highest Goodness. There is nothing about Creator God that is not of the Highest Goodness.
Acknowledging God as the Highest Goodness makes God trustworthy over all else, so that intimacy with God becomes effortless, as it always was, still is, and always will be. All who aspire to spiritually evolve can open their hearts to the highest goodness, knowing that this will steer them in the right direction, through all difficulties, and protect them from negative energies.
Dimensions of Consciousness
The universe is made up of many realms or dimensions, each reflecting a level of consciousness. The normal home of the soul is not the Earth plane, where the physical body resides, but in whichever higher realm reflects its own level of consciousness. Beings are of many differing levels of conscious evolution, and each will abide in whichever dimension is compatible with their level of consciousness.
As the soul evolves into higher states of consciousness, it is able to travel through higher and higher dimensions, of greater and more amazing spiritual and cosmic realities, where all life is more and more intimately connected, and more and more harmoniously one. This is the ascension process throughout the universe.
The universe we see with our eyes and detect with scientific instruments is the 3rd dimension. Higher dimensions are invisible to our physical senses, but aware, intuitive and emotionally open people can discern the constraints of 3D and by implication the existence of much more on a higher level. This encourages us to re-orientate our lives and put in the extra energy to develop our inner world and hone our inner abilities.
The 3D plane has its own real, natural consciousness, as demonstrated and expressed through nature. All creatures experience this, understand it, enjoy it, use it for communication and live in its nurturing, harmonious energy. Everybody incarnating on Earth have within them an instinctual, biological consciousness, connected to nature, which understands nurturing and health, etc. Traditional Indigenous tribal peoples are able to enjoy their biological linkages and live in nature’s healing energies to a degree considered impossible by ‘civilised’ people.
All people incarnating also have their ascended consciousness linking them to higher realms, and this is what distinguishes them from much of the rest of nature. Traditional Indigenous tribal peoples, who also have an ascended consciousness, may undergo initiations to reconnect them to their ascended consciousness, so that they may receive guidance from higher realms in their Dreaming. They are a living demonstration of what so-called ‘civilised’ people are unable to understand or achieve, either biologically or spiritually.
The 3rd Dimension is a place where beings of various levels of consciousness can undergo physical birth, and intermingle in ways that are not possible in the stratified conscious realms. The reason for this melting pot of consciousnesses is to enable a social ferment to occur, out of which can arise within individuals and throughout society, deeper and greater wisdom and a more comprehensive and compassionate consciousness, shedding clarity and understanding, uniting all levels of society in a higher way of living. Beings of greater consciousness can closely assist those of lesser consciousness.
Compared to higher realms, where most people come from before birth, and to which many return during sleep, the earth is slow and dense. Our experiential reality on Earth is governed by the law of karma (as you sow, so shall you reap) where we are subject to the consequences of our past actions. This ensures lessons are eventually learned, if insight, discernment, sensitivity and true reasoning do not provide.
The relative inflexibility of the physical plane, and the, vulnerability of the human body and its need for constant maintenance, ensures that a degree of difficulty will apply, requiring the development of abilities, and needing discernment as to their use for the wellbeing of all. This total milieu spurs conscious evolution.
The greatest example of biological and ascended consciousnesses working together was the flower children 1967-1970. Being already emotionally open enabled them to safely self-initiate into their ascended consciousness, assisted by judicious use of psychedelics, which is vastly different than what a young generation play at today. As a group, the flower children reached the greatest heights of responsibility, creativity, prophesy and an understanding of our cosmic future that the world has ever seen. And they did everything without a fuss.
They initiated ending the Vietnam war before anybody else had woken up, created and lived in self-sufficient communes, lived a highly natural, eco-friendly existence, had children through homebirths, brought their children up non-traumatised, home schooled their children, warned of the problems we face today, announced we are entering the Aquarian age, started bulk-food stores, the forerunner of health-food shops, made their own clothing, and developed a complete and fulfilling, non harmful lifestyle.
The flower children had no leaders, no structures and no official teachings. They were able to do this without argument, violence or struggle. They had both their biological consciousness, and their ascended consciousness working together and functioning flawlessly. They came as highly advanced beings, and ascended effortlessly to high 4D consciousness through goodwill, love and joy.
The 4th Dimension (4D) is where most people come from prior to incarnation and to where most people normally return, hopefully progressing to a higher level of consciousness within the 4th dimension. It is a highly stratified dimension, with many mansions, as has been said, and accommodates beings of differing levels of consciousness, from the lowly and negative, if that is where somebody wants to be, to the joyful and sublime. Unlike on 3D Earth, beings of differing levels of consciousness will not normally meet. Beings are instead drawn to like-minded others of a similar level of consciousness, via the law of attraction. Life in 4D is far more easeful, but does not produce the conditions for rapid learning and growth. For this, people must incarnate onto the Earth plane school of hard knocks.
Some people are able to retain, or have regained their ascension consciousness during 3D incarnation, and we know of significant people from our history who stood head and shoulders above others in their abilities and understandings, as clear examples of this. The flower children were unique in being the first group example, as a forerunner of impending planetary ascension. Ascended people are disinclined to embrace ways of living or of doing things that would lower or cloud their consciousness, or be harmful to others. The flower children avoided getting mixed up with the straight-laced mainstream culture of the day, and instead created templates for the emerging ascension culture.
The 5th Dimension is a realm virtually beyond duality, where oneness is obvious, enlightenment is a given, and intimacy with God is natural. The colloquial thought is that if, while incarnated, a person can raise their consciousness enough to break out of the 3D matrix, and live and be into 4D whilst still alive, then that should be able to power them into 5D, upon their eventual passing.
For humans to be able to reach 5D in the upcoming planetary ascension, they are undergoing a biological transmutation that includes having the so-called junk DNA connected up to form a third strand, receiving six more chakras in the upper body and head, and the carbon in their bodies are becoming crystalline to handle the higher vibrations. The discomfort that this produces has been termed ‘ascensionitis’, and it is recommended to drink plenty of pure water and to not become hypochondriac over what is actually very good news.
In order to speed up soul growth, many people choose to be born on planet Earth, or Gaia, which is known throughout the galaxy as a dense plain of accelerated learning, a kind of school of hard knocks. The Earth provides hard and relatively fast feedback to enable self-correction on the path to greater wisdom.
The density and materialistic cultures of the Earth plane effectively blocks out many of the more refined and sensitive feelings that would otherwise be normal and natural to the person. Competition, or vying with others, is one of the greatest blocks to higher vibrations. This necessitates greater effort, discernment and sensitivity on the part of the seeker, yielding commensurate results. It can also mean losing the plot for the unwary and insecure.
The Earth has been created as a planet abounding in ecological wonders, and offering bounteous food and means of survival. The Earth functions through creating bioregions, within which nature can create living worlds that work to improve the richness, biodiversity and resilience of that little world.
Bioregions can range from a drop of water to puddles, valleys, islands, continents, and to the Earth as a whole. Within a bioregion, each part of nature lives its own life, and in doing so contributes to the integrated functioning of the bioregion, and to the wellbeing of the whole. As a whole, or totality, nature optimises the process towards greater richness, biodiversity resilience and sustainability within natural physical constraints.
Indigenous peoples all over the planet have always understood the processes of nature and choose to live compatibly with it, enjoying the best of nature, whilst avoiding creating short and long term problems.
Gaia is an ensouled, conscious being that is taking the Earth Plane to higher dimensions, and much of its biology with it. This requires shedding of all that is impeding her ascension, in particular, accumulated karma over the ages, especially from wars and the like, that has not been healed and dispersed. Many of the current natural disasters are occurring are a result of this, which includes adjusting the tectonic plates.
Our true, natural consciousness is not the usual, conventional, waking-consciousness (which some people refer to as more like waking-sleep). Rather, it is what those same people refer to as our higher-consciousness, or true consciousness, real consciousness, super-consciousness, ascended consciousness, inner being, soul, etc. The nature of the soul is loving-compassionate-joyful-intelligent-wisdom.
Each soul has at its centre a God-fragment, or ‘spark of divinity’. Around this point of ultimate consciousness, over eons of time, each soul creates itself out of qualities abstracted from the essence of experiences that are compatible with the God-fragment, not unlike the formation of a pearl within an oyster. Over time our Soul becomes more and more godly.
The soul evolves itself by assimilating and integrating the quintessence of lessons learned through success and failure over lifetimes. Our soul learns the lesson especially when we fail, for when we succeed it is often no new learning, just confirmation of existing abilities, whereas failure may represent a foray into new areas, where we lack adequate wisdom. This will develop by addressing failures.
We are born with the ability to feel. It is our primary means of navigating the world, and enables us to sense things in a sensitive, nuanced, apt and non-clumsy way. Without our feelings, we must resort to trial and error.
A young child in its normal space is peaceful, balanced and deeply contented. It experiences the love of its own being through its feelings. This is natural, human nature.
It is our feelings that feel the pain and anguish when things are not right, for it has an innate understanding of right and wrong. This is because our feelings connect us back to our inner being, or higher consciousness. Higher consciousness gives us our true conscience. This conscience knows right from wrong, good from bad in a deep way, and will never act to harm another. For a person to willingly act against another, they must first block out their conscience.
Without free flowing feelings, we have no way of ensuring the mind does not go off on a tangent from reality, as happens before every crisis that the mind is oblivious to. Feelings are what keep the mind steering in the right direction, in the face of pressures and temptations to do otherwise.
Whereas freely flowing feelings feed back to the inner being, nourishing and growing it, all emotional conflict and pain becomes stuck and covers the inner being, causing frustration, anger, sadness, etc. These negative emotions need to be healed via awareness and acceptance, before being released into the subconscious where it becomes transmuted into compassionate wisdom. This process clears the mind and enables a clear channel to the right-brain once more, while the experiential understanding and wisdom produces soul growth.
The original use of a baby’s mind is as awareness, including self-awareness: becoming aware of things around them; wondering about them; experiencing them; and comprehending how things work, etc. This awareness complements their feeling self which is primary, and together lead to a rudimentary understanding of life and reality.
The natural use of the mind is not the logical, sequential thinking we are taught at school, but being aware and wondering, questioning, discovering and finding out. The great mysteries have never been penetrated by thinking, over thousands of years, and so are believed to be impossible to penetrate. Behind such a questioning mind lies a profound awareness that is natural to young children, as well as enlightened people. It is from this natural awareness, in interacting with the world, that wondering arises about real, relevant and important matters for oneself and world. Awareness is also aware of deviations from the natural, harmonious and good.
The Subconscious is an important part of our total consciousness where many important processes take place outside of our normal awareness, in a back-office kind of way. One of the major tasks of the subconscious is to process experiences and learnings so that they may be assimilated and integrated, and contribute to becoming a greater person. This takes place at a moderately deep level so as to allow these processes to take place without interference from a curious or meddlesome or interfering mind.
Likewise, the mind can be released to continue to do its responsible work, without being pre-occupied with what has gone before, and so remains relatively unburdened, so that it may continue its normal functions.
In normal circumstances, all that we encounter is first experienced by our feelings and awareness, and later is processed by our subconscious, often when our attention is on other things or during hours of sleep. This allows a continual, orderly, learning process to take place during our waking hours and throughout our lives.
The subconscious also has many other important tasks and functions, many of are to do with our relationship with our selves, each other, the natural world and beyond. One of the most important functions of our subconscious is to remain a clear channel through which our higher, ascended consciousness can communicate to us.
Sleep and Dreams
Sleep serves many functions. It is a time during which the physical body regenerates from much of the wear and tear caused during waking hours. Dreaming is a time when people have choices as to where they will go and what they will do. These choices are influenced by how life is lived during waking hours, and how things are done, which includes reflecting on things. Most important is the motive behind, and the attitude towards what is done.
For people living a committed spiritual life, which should really be everyone, sleep is a time when the inner being can return to its natural level of functioning, and is able to travel to where it can receive higher understandings to assist its life-direction and work on the physical plane. It may also receive guidance for near-future activities that may be encountered and embraced during waking hours. This out-of–the-body, nocturnal travel corresponds to the Dreaming and Dreamtime of various indigenous peoples, many of whom retain an awareness of their adventures when they awaken after returning to the body.
The location of our ascended conscious is the heart, and in the deepest recesses of the heart lives the soul, our superconscious self. At the centre of the soul is the ‘spark of divinity’, a fragment of Creator God that oversees the formation of the soul, which builds around it, based on life experiences, realisations and understandings. This is a two-way process: just as souls extract the essence of personal experiences, so too Creator God extracts soul understanding and wisdom from myriad souls throughout the universe. This enables a long-thought to be impossible process, of God, who is All That Is becoming more than God already is. Creator God set up this universe so that everything can progress God-ward, and so that God too can progress.
We commune with God through our open hearts, within ourselves, from our own centre of pure integrity and love. Being able to commune more deeply with God has always been the primary goal in life, as well the means we use, and the ultimate goal in life. As our conscious grows, God becomes more and more our path, the very core of our existence, and the basis from which we function.
The fastest, easiest, most ecstatic and enjoyable way to evolve one’s consciousness is to deepen one’s relationship with God, who is Cosmic Consciousness, at any and all times, for that is where we came from and where we are heading. Ascending in consciousness whilst still alive (becoming enlightened) has ever been the goal of serious spiritual travellers, and has long been regarded as paying dividends, by enabling access to even higher realms, after passing.
All movement that is towards higher states of consciousness and higher dimensions, is always in a friendlier, more nurturing, more compassionate, more harmonious, more joyful direction. These are the signs of heading in the right direction, although for some the pain of letting go of the existing can be very confusing. Because it is entering the unknown and is new, every gain becomes tested and re-tested until it becomes a natural, built in, dependable aspect of functional selves.
Ascending out of the Matrix
Returning to the Path of Ascension
The Earth was created for some very specific purposes, which includes evolving souls at an accelerated rate, through offering variety and choice to beings of many differing level of conscious evolution, within a slow, dense, fairly rigid plane. This enables people to learn in a difficult situation, but for many, the material world may seem to speak more loudly than the soul, and gentle inner knowing may give way to more blatant outer experiences. All solutions lie in the voice of higher understanding, and all must return to that gentle, inner knowing if they are to be part of the solution.
Karma in many ways is brought on by the unprocessed, negative emotions that cover the higher self and pervade and cloud the aura. Through the pain of error, a person gradually develops insight and compassion, and begins to see through not only personal errors, but also the constraining limits of their family, their workgroups, their society and their civilisation. This is the beginning of awakening that leads to enlightenment and ascension.
Ascension is about becoming a much more complete, sovereign and empowered person, functioning at ones true, enlightened level of consciousness, with understandings and abilities far beyond the aims and imaginings of mainstream society. So far beyond, that those who have already ascended to 4D find great difficulty in sharing these improved understandings with others, including even close friends, who may think they are no longer making sense, perhaps having a lend of themselves, or just talking crap.
Ascension is not an outcome of thinking, education, work, culture or civilisation, and never has been. These activities perpetuate the matrix by keeping people functioning within the same materialistic paradigm that has already created overwhelming and unsolvable global problems. Mainstream thinking is keeping people locked to its self-created problems, preventing our civilisation from rising above them, and addressing them from a higher perspective.
Ascension is about people living and being the true, higher selves that they were created to be, and already are, deep inside. As people reach beyond the present paradigm towards high level solutions, they are reaching towards their own ascension, and this assists them and others to ascend. As people bring their insights, understanding and wisdom to upgrade the level of thinking, education, working and culture, it assists their civilisation to function and exist on a higher level.
Ascension is always a free-will, conscious choice, but most people in developed civilisations have not been aware of the possibility. Ascending now, in the face of a materialistic, mainstream culture that is steering people in a different direction, means it still must be a definite, conscious, intentional, committed and sustained opt-in. The planet is ascending with much of its biology. The humans are invited along.
Ascending out of the Illusionary Matrix
Anyone able to step outside the matrix, is released back into their inner being and higher self, and immediately experiences a nurturing, uplifting, harmonious reality, even as others around them, whose consciousness is still inside the matrix, relate to an illusionary reality as if it were disharmonious in nature and inherently conflicted. In their mis-perception, they are actuality imposing those negative qualities onto an otherwise harmonious reality. This realm of illusionary consciousness knows about only a so-called negative human nature that creates problems, which it regards as inevitable, and now unsolvable.
Until the 1960s, only the sages, saints and mystics, some statespersons, a few genius scientists, artists and poets etc, have been able to function out of their own higher, or ascended consciousness. Many of these people had embraced enormous challenges, and engaged them pro-actively, which produced positive changes in their own consciousness, enabling them to enter into a reality of inner peace, joy and psychological freedom.
Once functioning from ascended consciousness, these people have found it relatively easy to break important new ground in their own respective fields of endeavour, and make known new understandings, so necessary for the advancement and upliftment of humanity. This is how true, evolutional progress has always occurred – people enter higher realms of consciousness and bring aspects of a higher paradigm into manifestation.
Since the 1960s, and the advent of Group Energies, ascension no longer needs to be the heroic odyssey of the rare and exceptional individual, although that is still available. Group Energies are an order of magnitude above the Ray energies, and can only be picked up from group souls, formed when people form coherent groups, acting responsibly and creatively for a higher purpose.
The first obvious example of group ascension was the Beatles, a group remarkably free of sarcasm, cynicism, bitterness or negativity. Beginning in the early 1960s, their early songs were unabashedly optimistic, about open-hearted love, and their wit and humour won over a sceptical America. They became unprecedently popular among an emerging teenage generation, and later pointed the way to higher states of consciousness through psychedelics, Eastern teachings and meditation.
This helped to pave the way for many rock-n-rollers, who may have otherwise remained oblivious, to open themselves to the possibility of experiencing higher states of consciousness, and facilitated many to make the transition to becoming flower children.
Flower Children emerged in 1967 to lay down templates for the future. They were assisted somewhat by responsible and judicious use of psychedelics that they were able to use safely. They appeared with an inner knowledge of advanced understandings about healthy, people-friendly, low-cost, pollution-free, subsistent, sustainable living. They warned of impending global problems if humanity did not lift its game, and spoke prophetically about a coming Aquarian age of planetary peace and love. They created communes and lived cooperatively, free from racism, sexism, religious conflict, and brought their children up un-traumatised, all without prior training.
All of this enabled a wave of Eastern Teachers and practices to enter the west during the 1970s, following the advent of flower children. They brought new understandings of higher human anatomy via auras, chakras, kundalini, etc, and safe meditation practices for their development and utilisation, necessary for future ascension, but not previously widely known in the west.
The Flower Children ascended during a time when the matrix was not so much in their faces. Politics, the commercial world and TV were background activities. Today, in order to prevent a repeat outbreak of mass ascension, they are in peoples’ faces, in peoples’ homes, and in peoples’ consciousness. Today, people must ascend out of a civilisation and culture deliberately designed to intrude upon, dumb-down and dis-empower the masses, especially young people.
This added grist has been very destructive of the nicer parts of society in order to make ascension more difficult, and has led many people away from their path. However all those able to maintain their values and direction in the face of such added difficulties, are undergoing unprecedented, accelerated growth, the merits of which add to their own evolution, and to planetary light, which powers the Planetary Ascension process.
The actual veils between the 3rd and 4th dimensions have thinned considerably, and this is why they have beefed up the matrix veil. Today, the matrix only exists in the minds of those who subscribe to it. It may be tuned out of at any time. Turning off the TV is a good start. There is something else to tune into that occupies far greater space than the matrix, and is healthy, wholesome, safe, nurturing, compassionate, wise and intelligent. It is our original nature, our present nature behind the matrix veil, our future realisation, and the nature of reality that surrounds us. It is becoming more intense and powerful.
Today, we are in a process of Planetary Ascension, as prophesised by the Flower Children when they spoke of planetary peace and love. The Planet itself is ascending and its biology is transforming to go with it. Many of the animals and plants will be ascending, some will not and will be returning from whence they came.
Today, ascension involves all of humanity, and all people are now being given the opportunity to ascend together, by forming coherent groups, with participants nurturing and supporting one another. This is a far more easeful, graceful and ecstatic manner to ascend than has before been possible, and was demonstrated successfully by the flower-children in the late 1960s.
All people are being given the opportunity to group-ascend, and this is the underlying reason that people have chosen to be born here at this particular time – so that they can be part of this unique, uplifting, culminating planetary event.
Today, upgrades to a number of key factors have improved the situation:
- We are no longer in the Piscean age, as the devotional/authoritarian Piscean energies have been withdrawn, and enlightening/empowering Aquarian energies now play upon the planet and its inhabitants.
- To facilitate ascension, higher-order Group Ray energies were introduced during the 1960s. These group-energies work with emerging higher-level group-souls, as could be witnessed during the 1960s.
- The Planet itself is ascending from what has been the 3rddimension, through the 4th dimension and will continue onwards, without pausing, towards the 5th dimension, in an unbroken, continuous movement, probably over several decades. Much of the biology will ascend with her. Gaia is close to entering the 4th dimension, which may perhaps be timed for 21-12-2012.
- Until now, it was only the exceptional, heroic individual who, after lifetimes of meritorious work, had the capacity to break out of the matrix and ascend. Now, because all beings are made up of Gaia’s elements, which are also ascending, all beings are able to be offered the opportunity to ascend biologically and consciously, as a group process, and many are fully engaged in this work.
- Those who are ascending will not be passing over, but will stay in their body as it transmutes. This is a new process, and will initiate sweeping changes throughout the universe.
These and other improvements have radically altered the ascension process, to enable far more people to ascend, and in an easier way than had been before.
Ascension is a natural process, fully compatible with nature. If we can understand how things naturally are, and how natural processes naturally work, before they are intruded upon and interfered with, we can far better appreciate how they relate to ascension, so that we can best co-operate with the ascension process.
Ascension is about returning the human system to functioning as it was optimally designed to. This comes about through:
- Releasing all buried negativity, which undermines normal consciousness;
- Enabling the right-brain feeling self to function sensitively, as it was designed to;
- Releasing the left-brain thinking self from its compulsive, circular, 3D matrix thinking;
- Returning the left-brain to its rightful natural functions of awareness and contemplation.
Those now ascending are leaving behind the law of karma, which is only being held in the mind and memory of the individual, and can now be dropped as of the illusionary matrix. This is being replaced by the law of attraction where we are drawing to ourselves right now, whatever our present activities on all levels are attracting. The law of attraction is much faster and is one aspect of how life works in the higher realms. It enables great possibilities, but requires great responsibility.
Living in a physical body on the Earth plane can make access to ones higher consciousness quite difficult, given the internal and external distractions that many can find interfering, even overwhelming. For this reason, spiritual practices have always lain at the heart of all cultures that acknowledge greater life processes beyond the conscious mind.
Today, elaborate rituals are not needed. Anybody with a basic understanding of spiritual principles can open their hearts to God, as the Highest Goodness at any time, and at all times, knowing that this is the safest, most secure, most healing, nurturing, and uplifting thing they can do. Everybody can invite God, as the highest goodness into their lives, to forgive and heal all that they have denied, rejected and buried in their subconscious, and all about themselves that they feel embarrassed, ashamed and guilty about.
Another requirement is to form real friendships within coherent groups. Friendships offer the possibility of releasing negativity without the drama, by maintaining the friendship connection intact, even as negativity is gently and often silently released, instead of being dumped on someone, in a dramatic, angry or vicious manner, which helps no one. Coherent groups, because they are formed for a higher purpose, act responsibly and are concerned about greater matters beyond that which mainstream concerns itself with. Consequently, they are able to draw upon higher-level group energies that were first brought in during the 1960s, for the purpose of intensifying and accelerating the ascension process.
Nature is biologically ascending. Becoming receptive to and living in harmony with nature will assure the human biological body is refined and sensitised automatically, without dramas, and will ascend as nature does. But for humans to continue ascending, they must also subject their mental and emotional bodies to the ascension process. The mental body must move beyond sequential thinking and return to becoming aware and self-aware; the emotional body must be purified of all negativity, which must be released, and then reorientated towards healing, feeling and sensitivity. Unhelpful memories must let go of, to allow the present moment to be fully experienced and appreciated, etc.
Other practices involve drawing upon and sending higher level energies to where they are most needed for the healing of people and planet following natural disasters and wars.
We are the people who are forming an ascension culture: a culture to reorientate people away from being controlled by out-of-touch outside authorities, and towards the wisdom of the soul; societies will move away from being competitive, and towards being co-operative; the economics of scarcity will be replaced by the economics of abundance; health will become preventative; medicines will become natural and vibratory; food will become natural and vegetarian; work will be purposeful, uplifting and rejuvenating; children will be brought up un-traumatised; people will become balanced, centred, right and left brain integrated.
Much of the forthcoming ascension culture has already been developed and tested. Intentional and Sustainable communities have been developed over decades. Organics, Biodynamics and Permaculture, can produce health-promoting food. Natural and vibratory healing modalities have been developed over the last few decades. Inspiring, uplifting and invigorating work and management modals were developed during the 1960s, but were mothballed in the wake of massive re-engineering etc, disruptions in the 1980s. The flower children perfected raising un-traumatised children.
Sinking into the matrix
Growth, evolution and ascension are all about stepping into a greater and more marvellous unknown, with awareness and acceptance, so that an experiential understanding arises, and it is no longer unknown, but part of our greater consciousness, and what was marvellous becomes a higher level of normal, and then stepping into an even greater and even more marvellous unknown, understanding and assimilating this, and on and on. Growth is not a continuation or a logical extrapolation of what already exists, which is just more of the same. The unknown is always different than what we already know. This is how a person grows into higher and higher states of consciousness. Anybody who is planning out and controlling their growth is not actually growing; they are just engaging some variation of more of the same. Life is apparently what happens, while we are busy making other plans.
The greatest problems stem from flawed and false beliefs that lead people to mistrust themselves, and everybody else, except so-called experts and authorities outside of themselves. Anything built upon such mistrust will fail. Likewise anything built upon fear, selfishness and greed, hatred and contempt, scepticism and cynicism. All activity involving these qualities are lacking purity of motive, and will create a flawed foundation, and a downward spiral, distorting and limiting what can ultimately be achieved.
We evolve towards ever greater purity of motive, and the realisation that the end does not justify the means; rather, the means that are used will always determine the end achieved. The notion of ‘scientific scepticism’ is not the open mindedness that we require, so that new information and understandings can be discerned. Discernment, not scepticism is what is required. Discernment enables a person to sift the real from the unreal, the better from the worse, and is of a higher level of consciousness than scepticism and doubt, which are both part of illusionary consciousness. Most people fear trusting themselves to be able to discern, and so use scepticism or resorting to outside authorities or so-called experts to absolve themselves of the responsibility of discerning. Scepticism is fear based, and prevents a person from stepping into the unknown, which is always something a person can be especially sceptical about, thereby locking them into the already known, instead of availing themselves to something new and different. Use it or lose it.
Much of western civilisation suffers from embracing a low-level and mainly false concept of God, which includes such vices as authoritarian control, jealousy, possessiveness, vindictiveness and retribution, which taken together does not seem to leave too much room for the devil. These are all negative, dysfunctional energies, worthy of psychotherapy, and anyone voluntarily subordinating themselves to such energies cannot hope to become anything but the same, which may explain the ruthless, destructive nature of religions on that lineage, including Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Those energies do exist in the universe, but are not of Creator God and are not part of the divine process. They are not of whom Jesus referred to as “Our Father”, which is Creator God, and is of the highest Goodness.
The only real protection one has from these and other negative energies is to aim for Creator God as the highest goodness, ask for protection, and steer clear of all low level energies.
When anybody is born on Earth, they arrive with the body’s biological ‘instinctive’ consciousness, albeit in an undeveloped body, and they also bring with them their ascended consciousness, which can be fairly easily accessed at that time. Instinctive consciousness and ascended consciousness work together and are highly compatible. Likewise on a larger scale, Gaia and Creator God are in telepathic communication and empathic rapport.
Within nature, animals can read the future as it will affect them. Ants build elevated nests before the onset of rain, and horses run wild before an earthquake. They can also know remotely, eg, coastal pelicans know when there is water and much fish in temporary, rarely-filled, central Australian lakes, at least hundreds and perhaps thousands of kilometres inland. Traditional indigenous peoples in their natural, undisturbed habitat also have many abilities that attune them to nature’s ways. Outside of nature, the 3D plane has no consciousness.
Babies and Infants
When children are born, their feeling-self is conscious, as is their awareness-self. These work together to make up the conscious-self, naïve and innocent, ready to experience, discover, learn, understand and realise on the earth plane. This is the normal process of experiential living and growing up, and becoming wiser. Through awareness and feeling, the conscious-self experiences biological consciousness as a natural reality, not unlike other creatures, although in an undeveloped body.
Through feeling and awareness, the conscious-self experiences its ascended consciousness as the higher-self, the in-body representation of the soul, which in its full expression is vastly greater. Awareness and feeling are able to refer to the higher self within, to enable empathic understanding, so that, eg, when a baby is smiled at, it knows what that means. A young child can easily tell whether a baby is a boy or a girl, but adults find this difficult. Young children have a whole amazing reality that is interesting, exciting, hangs together, makes perfect sense, is nourishing and nurturing, and is an intense learning experience.
But babies and young children must also contend with the world of adults, including their culture and technology. The child, being highly receptive, absorbs much of their parents’ unprocessed, disowned, negative emotions, which contaminate their aura, and can be highly distressing. The child lives in this negative psychic atmosphere 24/7, awake and asleep, in good and bad health.
Any feelings of emotional dependence by the baby, renders it likely to absorb unprocessed negativity as if its own, and feel very out-of-sorts as a consequence. Not being of their own creation, it is like suffering someone else’s karma. Eventually, some of this negativity may take hold and remain, and become incorporated into the child’s personal reality.
A child’s real world includes much that adults have since become oblivious to, having traded it in for a dull, drab, boring, conflicted and convoluted, mechanised, materialistic, false reality that produces the unprocessed negativity that the child absorbs. Another problem for the baby and infant is the doting over the child, which has far more to do with taking on the child’s good energy, than the other way around.
Many people’s lives have become so stressful and uninteresting, that most want to lose themselves in nowhere TV, or mood-numbing legal and illegal drugs, as a low-level, futile substitute for returning to becoming naturally centred and peaceful. This can be the future that awaits every child who loses touch with their bio-ascended consciousness.
Falling into Illusionary Consciousness
The physical universe that people are able to perceive is the 3rd dimension, or 3D. Here on Earth, people of differing states of consciousness are able to co-mingle in ways that does not happen elsewhere in the stratified realms of consciousness throughout the universe. This is an experiment in conscious ascension created for far-reaching, high-level reasons. It provides much for each person to work through, thus creating the conditions to break into ascended consciousness, with all of those prior experiences carried through as compassionate wisdom, elevating the soul.
Unfortunately, people in technological civilisations can become overwhelmed quite early by the challenges to maintaining their instinctual biological consciousness, plus their original ascended consciousness, while living in a civilisation and culture that is divorced from nature. The dominant culture even sees nature as the problem, and denies the existence of anything beyond the physical, material plane. People are given no higher guidance, and do not know how to keep the sacred relationship between the conscious self, the body and the soul intact.
The soul is always connected with God, but the personality or conscious self, may experience losing contact and communication with the soul, as a result of the trials and tribulations of life, which tend to be very blunt, loud, painful, dramatic, complex, complicated and convoluted, overwhelming the elegance and subtlety of far more finer and clearer vibrations. This loss of contact is really a dysfunctional blocking that can be undone. The soul never loses intimacy with Creator God.
Various religions have formed in the wake of an ascended person who has given out a teaching, usually orally rather than written, to help others ascend. Being put together by un-ascended followers who are still caught in lower levels of consciousness, they generally approximate those higher truths offered, but are often distorted understandings, and will often omit the best and most important aspects.
Christian religions in common believe that people’s nature is inherently sinful, in an inherited kind of way, and because of this supposed inherited flaw, believe it impossible for anyone to have a direct, intimate relationship with God, and if it ever happens at all, it comes only after death, and even then its not assured, and anyone failing to make the grade does not pass go, but instead goes to hell forever.
Most Christians subscribe to a vengeful God out of fear, not love, which doesn’t exactly enthuse them, so they have a religious structure to make up for that. They tend to regard Jesus as a buffer from an angry God, and an easy path to heaven, while still avoiding God, by using Jesus as a permanent substitute. Jesus is a door way for beginners to a loving God. Christians are supposed to move on into a direct relationship with God, freeing up Jesus to assist more newcomers. Most Christians remain terrified of taking the next step of connecting with God directly, when it is the safest thing to do, and instead cling selfishly to Jesus. As a result, Christianity has too often had an appalling impact in the past, and today has become innocuous, and keeps Christians from becoming intimate with God.
Darwinism teaches that the nature of life is ruthlessly competitive, which gives everybody a ‘jungle nature’ (the atheists’ equivalence of ‘original sin’). No matter what calamities we create, be they wars, pollution, famine, environmental destruction, etc, they are rationalised away with the refrain that we are doing quite well, considering that not so long ago, we used to be rock-apes. None of the other mammals screw-up or engage in destruction, so the rock-ape theory does not hold up. The upshot is that way everything is excused, and no growth, evolution or ascension takes place.
Both the flawed Christianity and the false Darwinism teach us not to trust ourselves, or anybody else, which stops growth and conscious evolution in its tracks. In a not too dissimilar fashion, Freud spoke with some insight of the sabotaging subconscious that undermined all that we do. Unfortunately he thought this was a permanent part of our make-up, instead of being the result of emotional negativity that we have denied and buried in our subconscious, and which is still continuing to affect us until it can be healed and released, and the understanding that arises integrated into experiential, compassionate wisdom.
These three fatally-pessimistic teachings are more of a ‘three stooges’ version of human nature. Together they blanket the field with false religion, false science and false psychology, each insisting on the invariability of a negative human nature. Even if a person is not aware of these false beliefs, they are embedded into the culture and will percolate into his reality to become assumed, unexamined axioms.
The truth is considerably better:
- Our nature is not negative, although we may harbour negativity. Our deepest nature comes from God, and is of God, and that is also where we connect to God, so we must learn to trust ourselves utterly in order to have intimacy with God.
- Growth, Evolution and Ascension are of consciousness and each of us is responsible for our own rate of growth, level of evolvement, and whether we ascend.
- Anyone and everyone can have intimacy with God, who is Unconditional Love, Utter forgiveness, Boundless Mercy, Limitless Compassion, Supernal Wisdom, etc, whenever they want, up to their level of conscious evolution, and as the relationship deepens, consciousness evolves.
True Education would prepare a person for ascension, given that God, the universe, a persons life force and their higher self, are all working together in this direction. Unfortunately, mis-education prepares a person for life within the matrix instead.
The true use of the mind is using awareness to develop insight, intuition, understanding, realisation and wisdom. Instead of that amazing high level stuff, the mind is taught to focus and concentrate into a tunnel vision that excludes the aware, questioning mind. The concentrated mind is taught to memorise ‘facts’ by rote learning and cold recall. This cements obsolete misunderstandings and false truths of the nature of life, and replaces valid childhood experiences with a false, ‘metallised’ view of the world that omits all things to do with awareness, sensitivity and feelings as an approach to reality, as is natural in childhood.
This obliterates all existing natural and experiential learning, reasoning, discernment and understanding. The child is then taught logical, sequential, deductive reasoning as a way to analyse and deduce, in lieu of understanding. The logical mind is then indoctrinated into aspects of materialism (the doctrine that nothing exists beyond the physical plane), which it is required to memorise as hard truth, and as a substitute for actual reality. Discerning reality is the responsibility of the left-brain, awareness-self working hand-in-hand with the right-brain, intuitive, feeling-self working.
Another major part of the mis-education system is to ensure every student is indelibly imprinted with win/lose consciousness, through embracing competition in the classroom and in school sport, as a precursor to inducing competitive, selfish motivation in the work arena. These values put people into conflicted, win/lose duality, which is at odds with, and overrides the win/win, unified consciousness of the inner being, higher self, soul, the universe, the cosmos, and God.
Another aspect of the mis-education system is to ensure each student is taught compliance and conformity, and any signs of right-brain consciousness appearing in the form of impulsiveness, cleverness, questioning assumptions, etc, are punished and suppressed, ensuring that the programmed, plodding, logical left-brain is always in command, and materialism reigns supreme.
Other pressures playing upon the growing person come via peers, work, sport, and the media, especially television, all of which are highly conformist, promote the materialistic paradigm, and are intolerant of any individual’s original thoughts, personal values or natural rhythms, which are seen as deviations to be eschewed. Mainstream media also knows that an anxious, insecure, dumbed-down, fear-driven person is far more amenable to advertisements, their source of greatest revenues.
The false justification for this blanket method of brain-washing, is the erroneous view that people are little more than rock-apes with attitude, and will revert to grunts and gestures without extreme brainwashing supported by carrots and sticks; and that a hard, inflexible, repetitive method is necessary for such essentially dull, stupid animals.
The problem with clumsy, brutalising practises is that they ride roughshod over a child’s most sensitive and refined processes that will unerringly guide it towards higher things if allowed to. Such brutish methods seriously limit how free a child’s consciousness is allowed to be, and how far it will be allowed to grow, by creating a vicious circle, of children becoming as they are treated, that too often becomes a downward spiral.
Burying Negative Emotions
One effect of the concentrated mind is to create focussed attention at the expense of awareness, like putting a reflector behind a light, to produce a beam that lights up one area, but leaves the rest of the room in darkness. This focussed, concentrated attention can be useful for extracting detail. The problem with permanently focussed attention is that we can only focus our attention on one thing at a time, excluding all else. This can amount to people becoming specialists, or so-called experts who cannot see the forest for the trees, and know nothing about the larger picture.
Attention can equally be used to avoid looking at things. We can turn our attention away from whatever we find unacceptable, which are usually unpleasant experiences. Anything that has been deemed as unacceptable has already been turned away from and rejected, and eschewed out of conscious awareness altogether. Everything so rejected out of conscious awareness becomes subconscious.
But this is not the subconscious that is a bona fide part of our natural, greater consciousness. Our natural subconscious assimilates and integrates experiences to become compassionate wisdom, which it passes to the soul. Instead, areas of our waking consciousness are harbouring all of the negativity that we have refused to accept and process in the normal, natural way.
In rejecting these, we wall them off, and they become areas of our consciousness that are no longer available to us. In his analogy of an iceberg, Freud estimated these to occupy 90% of our consciousness. Fritz Perls, founder of Gestalt Therapy, stated that most people use only 10-15% of our potential.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t end there. These are not areas that are lying passively dormant, ready for use. These are areas harbouring active negativity. They are also protected from scrutiny by an active program that is maintained by areas of consciousness, which are also no longer available to us.
So many unpleasant, painful, unresolved experiences now remain out of sight, while continuing to occupy areas that are meant to be functioning as conscious feeling, and awareness of that feeling. Maintaining avoidance of awareness is a highly active, artificial program that has been created for the purpose, and requires constant maintaining to prevent the person becoming aware of the negativity.
Anything that has been turned away from will not have been scrutinised, healed, understood and then allowed to flow into the deeper subconscious as experiential wisdom to grow the soul, while leaving the conscious awareness free to keep doing its job. This is the normal, natural process of learning and growing.
The more negativity that is shunned, the less feeling-consciousness a person has available, and the less awareness the person has of those feelings. Feelings that have been rejected are still in emotional turmoil, but cannot be processed and healed and integrated. The person no longer knows that they still exist, believing it has simply been banished. This is called denial. Denials often occur following shock or trauma, but self-rejections, such as shame and guilt, etc, can also be denied.
Denial occurs through the refusal to experience the emotional pain caused by the trials and tribulations of life. Any painful emotion that has been sidelined out of awareness becomes part of a negative ‘pseudo’ subconscious that sits atop of the real, natural subconscious and this creates a barrier between the conscious-self and the subconscious. Unacceptable self-judgements that create a sense of shame, guilt, etc, may also be sidelined out of awareness, and similarly become part of the negative subconscious.
The effect of denial is that those areas in denial are pitted against normal consciousness, in a way that cannot be consciously experienced and dealt with. This is extremely undermining, and puts a person in internal conflict and much drains energy.
Creating the Pain Body
The negative subconscious is not the true, natural, highly intelligent subconscious that processes experiences into wisdom. The negative subconscious is made up of areas of our consciousness that have been filled with emotional turmoil, then rejected out of awareness thus becoming subconscious, and left active and undermining, instead of being healed.
Eventually, the deeper, natural subconscious processes, necessary for integrating life experiences to produce growth in consciousness, become covered by unprocessed negative, painful emotions, and starved of processed understandings, to be further processed, before passing to the soul.
The accumulation of denied, unprocessed memories of painful experiences that is covering and obscuring our legitimate subconscious is known by some as the pain or denial body. The pain body is an artificial and dysfunctional creation that acts as a barrier and blocks or contaminates communication between the higher self, which communicates through the subconscious, and the normal conscious self. The pain body separates the everyday person from their best part, leaving them undermined by denied emotional turmoil, and without higher guidance.
This emotional negativity and negative emotionality covers the feeling self with a pain/denial/fear barrier that continuously locks the person off from the higher self. The negative emotions are still as upset and uncomfortable as ever, and want resolution.
Effects of the Pain Barrier
Once cut off from the feeling self, the focused mind no longer has contact with actual reality, and so is amenable to being influenced by the putrid, emotional garbage dumps that it no longer thinks exists. This can affect the person profoundly, in a number of ways. For example:
- The mind, driven by subconscious emotional turmoil, becomes abnormally interested in some things, and very uninterested in certain other things, without questioning why. This can lead to a life focussed on distractions and trivia, and also having obsessional prurient interests, while having little or no interest in the things that really count.
- The mind, now acting without reference points, becomes amenable to programming that it cannot discern the truth or relevance of, as is being done in the mis-education system.
- The physical body, experiencing the emotional turmoil at its own level of biological consciousness, is liable to embark on a compensatory eating program, producing compulsive eating habits, especially of ‘consoling’ foods, high in fats, sugars and dairy, leading to health problems such as obesity and diabetes.
Suppressing the Right-Brain Feeling-Self
Eventually, the feeling self, which we may also refer to as the right-brain, becomes smothered with unresolved, denied, painful, and stuck emotional feelings and memories that clog the aura. The person can no longer navigate the world using sensitive feelings, as the pain and disorientation is too great.
Eventually, the smothered feeling self gets walled off from conscious awareness, and becomes subconscious, buried under the weight of negativity. The feeling self now becomes the ‘inner’ being. This inner-being is now permanently covered by a pain/shame/denial barrier, and being out of the reach of conscious awareness, cannot heal itself, or be healed from without.
Developing the Left-Brain Thinking-Self
Once a person loses contact with their feeling self, which usually happens in childhood, they feel fearful, insecure, unbalanced, unhappy and in an existential vacuum. They are also out of empathic touch with the natural world, and so the illusionary, mainstream world of clumsy trial and error gains significance.
Sooner or later, most children will fill this void with the left-brain, and develop a thinking type of consciousness. The feeling self becomes permanently subconscious, and the left-brain conscious awareness becomes replaced by a thinking mind, which then maintains an attitude of aloof denial of the emotional pain. The left-brain now acts to keep the right-brain and its emotional pain out-of-sight, out-of-mind, and suppressed.
The thinking mind has arisen out of denied emotional pain, and constantly acts in a denied reaction to it, whilst rationalising that the problem and solution lies outside of itself. So an internally insecure person may seek material wealth and other useless buffers against inner insecurity. Nothing from outside can quench internal emotional pain, and as it accumulates, the mind becomes more desperate and compulsive in its thinking, all about wrong ways to solve the problem, much of which can be reduced to planning the next buffer, or how to distract oneself in superficial trivia.
The emotional pain body that covers the feeling self has been shunned, denied and buried in the subconscious. The feeling self has been buried under overwhelming emotional pain. The mind denies the existence of the now-subconscious emotional pain, and by extension denies the existence of the feeling self. Yet it acts in reaction to the emotional pain, and then rationalises its activities in plausible excuses. This is the world of illusion.
Consciousness and Identity
A person does not cease to have consciousness after they have cut themselves off from their consciousness awareness and their higher self. Consciousness adapts itself to whatever a person identifies with. People may identify with their bodies, minds, possessions, partners, careers, professions, etc. This allows people to keep living their lives, but without true conscience or higher values, their consciousness will inevitable become some variation of the mainstream, materialistic, illusionary reality.
Soul consciousness exists in its own right as radiant love, compassionate wisdom, etc. and is what each of us really are. But once soul consciousness is overshadowed by painful denials, a selfishly orientated, self-referencing, fictional ego usually arises to fill the void. It becomes a stand-in substitute for true higher consciousness. The ego is illusionary and has no true existence, ever. Because of this it is always fearful and insecure, and always looks for security outside, whether through power over others, money, material wealth, approval, etc.
When we feel emotional pain, it is our sensitive feelings that are there to guide us that is experiencing the pain. This is telling us something is not right. Without this feedback experience of emotional pain, we would have no ultimate way of telling what is true or false, right or wrong, good or bad, better or worse, other than simply believing plausible information that has been presented to us, or by resorting to trial and error. We then have no intrinsic conscience, only a conscience based on matrix values.
Beyond a certain point of emotional pain, a person may become traumatised, or go into shock, or otherwise learn how to deny the emotional pain through sidelining it out of conscious awareness. This dissociates or splits the feeling of pain from the conscious awareness, taking that area of conscious awareness with it, so that it now continues to live subconsciously. Thereafter, any similar or associated emotional experiences will tend to be likewise rejected and denied and added to the pile, and so it builds. Eventually a person can develop a comprehensive denial consciousness, imprisoned in the subconscious, made up of unhealed, rejected painful experiences.
This does not solve the problem, or the pain associated with it. All denials are self-rejections that have been assigned to denial consciousness in a disowned, out-of-sight, out-of-mind way. These self-rejections lurk, nagging at the person, undermining the person from beneath the level of awareness, where it cannot be forgiven, accepted, healed, assimilated or integrated. This gives the person a constant feeling of lacking fulfilment, and a vague sense of something about them being not quite right, leading to self-doubt, a lack of confidence, a negative self-image, and an inferiority complex. All because of what hasn’t been processed.
By its very nature, the denied pain barrier disinclines the person from looking within to address the problem, and all attempts to address the feelings of unease on conscious levels are likely to be reactive and compensatory, and will miss the point. These mis-directed methods cause the person to live an illusionary, spiritually static, symbolic life, instead of living a real, authentic life and spiritually progressing.
In its natural state, prior to being transformed into a garbage dump, the subconscious is a rich inner world of deeper understanding, to explore and enjoy and learn from. It now becomes a place of pain and unpleasant memories to be denied, rejected and kept away from. The explanations of original sin a la Genisis, jungle nature a la Darwin, and sabotaging subconscious a la Freud, each find plausible justification here and only serve to increase peoples’ fear of their own subconscious.
Adopting a Negative Self-Image
By the time people become adults, many of them have far more of their waking consciousness assigned out of awareness and into sub-conscious denials, than rightfully assigned to conscious awareness. In Freud’s day, he likened it to an iceberg, and estimated the ratio to be about 10 parts subconscious to 1 part consciousness.
Spiritual life is about increasing, not decreasing conscious awareness, and anyone with buried, denied pain will experience a nagging, undermining, sense that things inside are not quite right, and this gives rise to a negative self-image that undermines whatever they do. They may then identify with this, giving them a chronic negative self-image and an inferiority complex.
Creating a Positive Self-Image
After a time of feeling bad about themselves and the feelings of insecurity and depression that go with it, some people will undertake to manifest a positive self-image, so that they can feel good about themselves. This may be through developing skills and becoming a more functional and capable person. But it is more likely to be consistent with the mainstream trend of developing the symptoms of success, like competing against others to win, acquiring wealth and material goods, having romantic conquests, gaining status, etc. The general theme is to seek approval, acceptance and confirmation from others, in order to feel good about oneself.
All such gestures are futile, because they do not strike at the heart of the problem, but on the contrary, a self-image is created to place a counter-balancing barrier over the negative self-image, in an out of sight, out of mind kind of way. Underlying every positive self-image there continues to remain a highly-active, negative self-image, still undermining it, still driving it, keeping the game alive, and keeping the player locked into a never-ending futile quest, and as a result becoming ever more committed to the mainstream, illusional reality for a solution. The nature of the positive self-image is likely to be somewhat opposite of the negative self-image, and provides a clue what the person suffers from.
The ego does not exist as an entity in its own right. It is an activity. It is simply a never ending, self-referring and self-referencing activity, in the absence of a true and abiding sense of self. Like a vortex, no substance, just activity. It sits on one side of the pain barrier, in denial of the pain, and the real self is on the other side of the pain barrier, lock out of communicating with the conscious awareness. The true self, whose nature is radiance, is effectively trapped behind a pain barrier. The ego’s attention is turned outwards, away from the pain that it reacts to, but refuses to recognise, and its every activity is to usurp the true self and act, not with radiance, but like a vortex seeking to suck in energy to itself.
The ego constantly compares itself to others, and measures itself on what it has, because it does not have a true sense of what it is. It is not the I AM, which is sufficient unto itself, and it knows it every time it crows and brags. Spiritual life is about dissolving ego consciousness, created out of positive self-image’s need to dominate negative self-image, so that one’s Soul consciousness which is accessed via self-acceptance and self-awareness to shine through.
Ego, greed and corruption are all founded on fear-based reactions, to an already underlying fear that has been caused through loss of connection with one’s inner being, or higher self. This is caused by shock, trauma, denials etc, which have been forced out of conscious awareness and added to the subconscious. This becomes a fear/pain barrier causing a functional disconnection from the emotional body, or right brain, which is the part that is in contact with the higher self. Reacting to fear, instead of accepting and overcoming it, only locks a person to the fear and perpetuates it.
The ego searches in others for the love that it longs for, but it does not know that its every action is to separate itself from God-connected, inner love. The same predicament applies to the person they search in vain for. Their every action, once having found each other is likewise to separate themselves from each other’s God-connected inner love as well. Implicit in this statement is that genuine intimacy with another will enable reconnecting, so nothing is doomed.
Projection occurs when a person reads into, or projects onto another person, the very qualities they deny in themselves. This happens because whatever is denied remains in, and contaminates the aura, becoming a distorting filter through which to mis-perceive and mis-relate to the outside world.
Projection occurs when blocked energy gets disturbed, and arises from within, and there is an ongoing refusal to accept responsibility for what one is already in denial about, and so it gets targeted at whoever is regarded as triggering the disturbance.
Anybody who is catalytic, which is anybody who is in touch with their inner being, can trigger these painful denials in a blocked person inadvertently, because the unblocked person can explore, and think about and talk about things that the blocked person retains as sore points to avoid. These sore areas can erupt; result in venting of much negative, emotional energy. Unfortunately, it will usually be directed at someone who may be quite innocent of the projected accusations contained within the abuse.
Denials create a fragmenting of consciousness, and a denial of service to those now-negatively charged areas of consciousness which, still being active, will attract or will be attracted to situations that will bring pressure to bear upon areas with negativity or blocked and disrupted flows. This is to assist the person clear the underlying and undermining problem.
Cognitive dissonance occurs when a person encounters information or a belief that contradicts or conflicts with the person’s already established information or beliefs, so the person doesn’t know what to believe. For an emotionally closed person, who relies exclusively on the mind, this can present quite a dilemma. The mind of the emotionally closed person cannot handle being open, and would rather risk choosing the wrong option, than hold the mind open until something becomes apparent or more obvious.
Emotionally open people can hold their mind in abeyance, and suspend making hard beliefs. Such a dilemma means more food for thought, and an invitation to look at the beliefs from other angles, to see if somehow they are both true, or whether there may be other ways of understanding the options, etc.
All self-imagery arise after a loss of sense of self, and are a reaction to the fear and insecurity that emerges from that feeling of loss. All people with a positive self-image have built it to cover up their still-active, negative self-image. The negative self-image is the shadow self that the positive self-image is always actively trying to refute, and so the positive self-image contains much about it that is polar-opposite of the underlying negative self-image, all designed to boost the person’s self-confidence. This locks a person into matrix consciousness, and becomes an extremely convoluted, entangled and painful problem to unravel.
From time to time, after bottling and building up much negative energy, the negative self-image will assert itself to purge itself of the pent up energy. This can be especially true during times when the positive self-image’s guard is down, such as when consuming alcohol. The person’s outburst or impulsive behaviour can appear out of the blue, and being dysfunctional, seem out of character. After releasing some pent-up negative energy, and having made its point painfully on others, the negative self-image sinks back into the subconscious, temporarily relieved and pacified.
The positive self-image, which had absented itself during the outburst, reasserts its normal role, sometimes in complete denial of the event, but more usually rationalising the tantrum as completely reasonable under the circumstances. The person is effectively living in polarised duality, and not being in touch with their true needs, can become committed to seeking symbolic satisfactions that never fulfil, in a never-ending, financially draining and often health-destroying quest.
The positive self-image can usually gloss over what it does not wish to take responsibility for. Its very existence depends on maintaining the façade to itself, via convincing others, as a way of seeking their approval, all to counter the denied but still activated, negative self-image. This locks everything in place, maintaining a life of futility and pointlessness. This is the life of most people, constantly propping up a positive self-image within the illusionary, lifeless mainstream paradigm is a very poor substitute for existing in or ascending to higher states of consciousness where harmony and fulfilment are a given.
All people are bipolar to greater or lesser degrees, until they choose to leave the world of duality behind altogether and ascend. Schizophrenics are people who have given away far greater amounts of their sovereign consciousness through greater denials. They have a far greater denial/pain conscious, and experience cognitive dissonance far more intensely. Their needs for a satisfying self-image are far more desperate, and the negative self-image is far greater, usually closer to the surface, and ready to spring into action at a moment’s notice.
The state of conscious that most people regard as ‘reality’ is not their natural, true, higher- consciousness, but an artificially constructed, left-brain paradigm that usurps and supplants the best and most important aspects of real consciousness, and instead replacing it with an obsolete, mechanistic paradigm, that has been persisted with since the industrial revolution. Being unnatural, it is not connected with nature, nor any part of the entire universe of consciousness, dimensions and beings, all of which are harmoniously and telepathically interconnected to one another.
Illusionary consciousness changes peoples’ perceptions so that they are unable to see things as they truly are. Instead of perceiving harmony and unity, people perceive in terms of their fears and prejudices, which affect their preferences. Many are commonly held preferences, inducing much group think where people reinforce each others biases and prejudices.
Mainstream consciousness has been constructed upon certain false assumptions about the nature of oneself, of other people, of life, of nature, of God, and the point and purpose of it all. These false low-level, illusionary, unexamined assumptions keep people from achieving their full potential, which many people mistakenly think is physical fitness, a career and material wealth.
Illusionary consciousness keeps people from knowing the real truth, and is devoid of appreciations of nature, the spiritual realms and the cosmic, whilst regarding the nature of life itself as fundamentally hostile and in need of structuring, and of nature as fundamentally hostile and in need of controlling.
These false assumptions cause people to live at a far lower level of consciousness than is natural to them, and is devoid of appreciations of nature, the spiritual realms and the cosmic. Instead it regards the nature of life itself as fundamentally hostile and in need of structuring, and the nature of nature as fundamentally hostile and in need of dominating. This prevents people from realising their true potential, keeping them unfulfilled, and causing them to live compensatory lives of compromise and distraction.
Illusionary Matrix Consciousness
Ego consciousness has no independent existence in its own right, and seeks confirmation from others, producing a kind of affinity and stickiness, where people adapt and adjust their values and beliefs, producing agreed realities, making interaction safe. This leads to cliques, which can be as small as two people and as large as nations and civilisations. The NWO is an attempted planetary clique of those who subscribe to it.
This fear-based tendency to produce agreed realities is given a boost by the mainstream system. Mis-educational institutions and non-news services act to keep people on the same page with the same subjects, same interpretations, same slants. Most people find the illusionary reality overwhelming, and so obviously ‘real’ that they are unable to question the matrix they have been sucked into, are immersed in, and have committed themselves to.
The totality of commonly held false consciousness, false religion, false beliefs, false values and false understandings make up the matrix. The matrix is whatever values, beliefs etc, act to separate a person from their biological consciousness and their ascended consciousness. The matrix is the commonly held, illusionary consciousness that most people take as solid reality and certain truth. Every false and illusionary aspect of mainstream society is the matrix. Truth and reality are not part of the matrix.
The matrix is not an improvement on our natural consciousness, and cannot create solutions to our real needs. Instead it invents mechanised answers like processed, junk food, devoid of nutrition, and chemical medicine with toxic side-effects, etc.
Most people live inside a false, artificial, illusionary, unnatural, materialistic, mechanistic matrix-consciousness bubble, in isolation from the entire universe of nourishing and uplifting energies. Most try to live safe, secure, predictable lives in what they experience as a hostile reality, instead of doing what it takes to put on spiritual growth. This requires people to keep stepping into the marvellous unknown, and to keep extending themselves beyond their current abilities. In particular, this refers to growing in compassionate wisdom, one of clearest signs of an advancing soul.
Creating the Mental Matrix
The logical, deductive mind cannot solve existential problems at any time, because its very nature is to know about all sorts of things, based upon foundational beliefs, without actually knowing anything in truth. Knowing belongs to the feeling self, because it can tune in. So the mind constructs its own take on reality, by accumulating plausible beliefs that offer a sense of security. All knowledge based on beliefs is likewise, just beliefs.
Beliefs are a permanent commitment of the mind in the absence of actual, experiential knowing. Beliefs close the mind, and take the place of a living reality. Instead of forming beliefs, the mind should always be held open, in abeyance, allowing more information to enter, be discerned, and accumulate, until a fuller picture is realised and understood. This is how the mind is supposed to work, and is why people learn to meditate, to open the mind. Whenever the mind closes, illusion takes over reality.
Beliefs are like icebergs in one’s consciousness, around which false understandings, consistent with those beliefs are formed. All knowledge based on foundational beliefs, is illusionary. They override and replace ones sensitive feeling for actuality and truth.
Beliefs are formed and clung to out of insecurity, and this makes them hard to dislodge in the face of true, but conflicting information, which is immediately dismissed as false, before they are examined, so discernment cannot enter, and a better understanding does not build. Beliefs prevent people noticing incremental changes in reality, until they become a crisis or calamity before they can break into conscious awareness, so that the real problem can at last be addressed, based on experience. Life happens while the mind is making other plans.
Plausible beliefs, and the misunderstandings that arise out of them, are the matrix. It is an illusionary, false-reality that keeps people believing and thinking they are little more than rock-apes with a bad attitude in a hostile world which is cut off from the rest of a hostile universe. The entire world of rational, and irrational thought has been founded on false, crippling beliefs, all of which severely constrain a person’s capacity to experience their inner divine nature and its harmonious relationship with the rest of nature and the universe and the cosmos, and get on with evolving. Actual God is the last thing that that mind and the matrix can handle.
Matrix false consciousness has no connection with ascended consciousness or its wisdom, does not and cannot know the true purpose for living or the real reason for incarnating. Instead, the mind becomes embedded in the mainstream illusionary world of artificial, mechanistic, logical thinking about far less relevant matters.
The Materialistic, Mechanistic, Left-Brain, illusionary Matrix
The mainstream illusionary matrix is created and sustained in people by believing and memorising false truths, and then thinking derived from these left-brain activities. It is all based on the past, on what has already happened. All knowledge is of the past, so its understanding, or misunderstanding, of anything belongs to the past. Knowing, as an activity, belongs to the present, but knowledge, as beliefs, prevent people from truly being in the present, or from feeling the future, which people in the present can do. It separates people from the natural evolutionary flow of nature, which is now moving rapidly towards planetary ascension.
The matrix cannot look to the future and resorts to extrapolations of the past. This does not allow for improvements, and is completely unaware of actual future patterns, which are very different from the past, and will represent a complete departure from past trends and tendencies.
The mainstream matrix is disconnected from the natural world, as well as higher realms of consciousness, and from the divine. Do you believe in God, or do you have a relationship with God? Nobody with their consciousness inside the matrix can understand that the natural world has its own intimate, creative connection to the divine, and should never be abused. No one can abuse nature without creating serious disconnections from their own biological self, with far-reaching implications.
The matrix is a mental creation, and all those who choose to lead with their minds will stay within the matrix, and remain completely out of touch with the real, actual reality, beginning with the natural world, which it depends on, yet is in the process of destroying.
The illusionary matrix is essentially materialism, and substantially made up of:
- materialistic science that sees nothing beyond the physical;
- materialistic religion which regards all beyond the physical as unattainable;
- a materialistic ‘high-culture’ that copies and imitates the values of the elite from centuries ago.
- a contemporary culture, wreaking with decadence, that distracts people from all issues necessary, important, relevant, beneficial, nurturing or uplifting to people’s lives and planetary wellbeing, and cannot even begin to contemplate ascension.
All aspects of the matrix are in serious need of upgrading, if not replacing altogether, and will continue to create ‘unsolvable’ problems for people and the planet until they are. Right now, the matrix is in the process of its own self-destruction, to make way for a higher paradigm.
The Matrix and Fear
The Matrix is made up of whatever is false and illusionary, whatever is contaminated by greed and deception. Collectively, it is everything that is not part of the Real and has no basis in the real Reality that penetrates every aspect of life and extends from nature up to the cosmos. Reality is founded on Love.
The matrix is founded on fear, not love. Every young person at some point experiences a sense of separation from their true self. This is the most fearful experience of their life, and often follows shock, trauma, intense pain, etc.
Reconnecting with the true self again, should then be the immediate and overwhelming quest of everybody, and is what ascension is all about. Ascension is so difficult for people to achieve, because they retain the subconscious memory of that most overwhelming fear, and are terrified of re-experiencing it. Most people live their whole lives and pass over without consciously reconnecting.
Fear stands for false expectations appearing real, and the fear of re-embracing the fear is just that – false expectations appearing real, because ascension is about going from that already existing subconscious fear that already runs every aspect of their lives, to re-experiencing the overwhelming Love of the Soul, which now resides at deeper, unconscious levels, and bringing it into conscious awareness. The subconscious fear itself is the only thing in the way.
In the mean time, the person’s whole life is now founded on fear, and from fear comes the ego, or false sense of self founded on fear, and from this follows anger, hatred, greed, exploitation, competition, and the whole gamut of negative emotions. Whatever is done with subconscious fear as the base emotion is contaminated by such, and is accordingly compromised. What ever is done in a compromised way creates negative karma for the doer. And whatever is done in a compromised way contributes to the matrix.
The conscious mind is often referred to as the left brain, and in its present form has arisen as a reaction to the loss of true, heart-based self, and is likewise founded on fear. As such, everything the fear-based mind does contributes to the matrix, and energetically locks the person into the matrix, and into perpetuating the matrix. The matrix is nothing but the collective illusions of deluded minds that people cling to out of insecurity, based upon fear.
Western Civilisation and Culture
Consistent with creating a false world with false values, Western civilisation has a long history of martyring and assassinating, or at least destroying the work and effectiveness of, its ascended way-showers, and this still occurs today. Lightworkers and wayshowers, and anybody else on the path of ascension are experienced as an extreme threat by all those commitment to maintaining the 3D matrix, because they invariably advocate a world of peace, harmony, freedom, sovereignty and equality for all, which immediately strikes at the sources of extreme greed, power and corruption, who perpetuate the matrix through control of its institutions. They benefit immensely from the matrix and regard the rest of humanity as their slaves.
Nothing in current western mainstream culture is geared towards ascension, and anything that arise that promotes or facilitates ascension, is either shut down, as in free energy generators, or corrupted and usurped into the matrix, as in rock-n-roll. When rock-n-roll freed a generation, it was not part of mainstream, and many in mainstream were horrified at the emotional freeing up of a younger generation. When the flower children appeared with a suite of higher-level understanding and values, they were not part of mainstream consciousness, and the global elite, who control the masses, were appalled at their freedom and gentle, healthy values. They took insidious counter-measures against both examples of young peoples’ freedom, empowerment and sovereignty to ensure there never again would there be an outbreak of ascension consciousness. The results today are starkly obvious.
Instead of any part of contemporary culture leading people towards their ascended consciousness, as indigenous cultures do via their initiations, it occupies people with mindless distractions, convincing them that there is nothing more to life than the material plane and greed. These false beliefs are the matrix. The matrix exists only in the consciousness of those who continue to commit their minds to its continuance, in an oblivious, mind-over-matter kind of way.
Leaving the Illusionary Matrix
Solutions to worsening global problems will not be found within the matrix, or at that level of consciousness, but will require reaching beyond the current paradigm, as is beginning to happen with renewable energies, people meditating, eating natural food, using natural healing modalities, etc. The replacement of the 3D matrix with high 4D, and then 5D consciousness will necessitate root and branch transformation of our existing dysfunctional system. Those parts of the system unable to transform are already imploding, so that they can be replaced with higher-level solutions, and this is at last becoming apparent to the mainstream masses, who would otherwise remain closed to the possibility of ascending.
Anyone ascending is catalytic on others, even when asleep. Their interactions with others are always to appeal to their higher consciousness, which responds by pushing out those negative emotions and false beliefs that are blocking its expression. This assists them to release these negative emotions and false beliefs, so that their higher consciousness can express itself. Those whose fears and insecurities are too great to let go of, or put to one side, are prone to projecting the re-emerging negativity at whoever is deemed to be the source of their disturbance.
As the collapsing 3D paradigm becomes more unreliable and painful to cling to, more and more people are able to step aside and be open to better ways of living and being, and turning problems into opportunities to create higher-level, win-win solutions. Problems will only be solved from a higher perspective, and as more people ascend, their insights and collective wisdom will percolate into the collective consciousness, and the necessary changes will no longer seem impossible, or even so difficult.
The nature of all is consciousness. The universe consists of realms of consciousness, arranged in separated dimensions, from the densest, dullest and most restrictive, to the most sublime, elegant, harmonious and expansive. This continues right up to the Divine, whom we may refer to as cosmic consciousness. The universe we perceive and detect with instruments is only the third dimension.
All beings, human and otherwise, are creatures of consciousness, and each will occupy whichever realm accords to their own individual level of consciousness. In the process of living and experiencing life, understanding builds, leading to wisdom, and through this process, conscious ness slowly evolves. Eventually, over eons of time, the consciousness of the being has evolved sufficiently to enable transitioning into the next higher realm of consciousness. This is a major step up, and when it has occurred during an incarnation, whilst the person is still alive, it is traditionally referred to in the East as becoming Self-realised, or God-realised, or Enlightened, depending on the orientation of the ascender, or those who comment about it.
Evolution is the process of evolving ones consciousness within a dimension. Ascension is the transition process of progressing through to the next higher dimension or realm of consciousness, where there are greater expressions of love, harmony, intelligence and wisdom than the dimension being left. Using water as an analogy, evolution is like heating the water to higher degrees; ascension is the jump into a higher state, as when water turns to steam. Anyone ascending will experience the event as the greatest and most important experience of their life: a step up into a higher level of functioning, where all of one’s aspects work together, harmoniously, synergistically, without internal conflicts.
Everybody is evolving forever in a cosmic, or God-ward direction, each person in their own time and unique way. All beings are forever evolving their consciousness so that they may ascend to the next dimension, and this continues right up to cosmic levels. It is a cosmic process, overseen from the highest levels, natural to the universe. Beings in all realms are on the path of evolution and ascension for all time. It is not boring, as everything gets better and better, and life becomes more harmonious and joyful.
Ascension is so important that it is the underlying truth behind all religions, and the sole reason for their creation. Religions usually form in the wake of an ascended person who has given out a teaching to help others ascend, usually after passing over. Often such teachings are spoken spontaneously, not written, and may be very situational and contextual. They may be taken as absolute statements, suitable for all occasions, and for all time. They may also suffer being mis-interpreted, even mis-quoted by followers, who remain caught in the illusionary consciousness the teaching was given to dispel. The outcome has too often been distorted, rigid understandings, and only rough approximations to truth, and may also omit the best and most important aspects, and instead insert rigid structures and authority figures, instead of wisdom and understanding for each person’s empowerment.
Ascension is everybody’s birthright and is the first and foremost reason that anybody chooses to incarnate on Earth, which is known throughout the galaxy as a place of rapid growth that is brought about through facing challenges and overcoming difficulties in a situation of variety and choice, with other humans from many levels of consciousness, all of whom have had their highest consciousness veiled, so that they must put in the extra effort, and this ensures evolutional growth.
